LCMS Missionary Ashley Lehr

Ashley Lehr

Serving the Lord in Puerto Rico

Bio

Ashley Lehr serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Puerto Rico, based in Mayaguez. As an outreach specialist, Ashley connects, equips and organizes local and international volunteers for service to Christ both on and off the island of Puerto Rico. These relationships of service and love create opportunities for sharing the Good News of Jesus in word and deed, as well as for forming a church body that is known for serving its communities. She also works to assist local communities by connecting them to fellowship, education and mercy activities and events.

Ashley’s hometown is Appleton, Wis., where her home congregation, Faith Lutheran Church, is located. She received a bachelor’s degree in social work, with a minor in communication, from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn. While in college, she worked as a nanny, as a student manager in dining services and as a peer minister at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead. In addition, Ashley participated in two short-term mission trips to Haiti (2014) and Guatemala (2018). Her hobbies include bullet journaling, watching movies, playing cards and board games, and spending time with family and friends.

Prayers

Pray for Ashley as she serves the church and the people in Puerto Rico. Ask God to work through Ashley to bring the Good News to people who are desperate for words of hope. Pray for God’s guidance and faithfulness in her endeavors. In addition, ask God to give her strength and endurance as she continues to learn Spanish. Let us give thanks to God that Ashley is serving His children in this part of the world.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose, when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution toward another aspect of ministry that aligns closely the contributor’s goals and values. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.

Consistent with Synod Board policy and in recognition of a more challenging economic and philanthropic/fundraising environment due to inflationary pressure, not more than 12.5 percent of any charitable contribution will be allocated to administering gifts and communicating with contributors. Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
