Part I Interconnecting Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Classroom Management: 

The goal of SEL is to improve a person’s capacity to establish and maintain healthy relationships. Participants will learn about the 5 SEL core competencies, as well as supporting student and staff behavior as part of the classroom and school environment. This event also considers the braided work regarding classroom management and how SEL and PBIS work together.

  • Identify key behavior principles  
  • Explore evidenced-based practices for classroom management
  • Understand Executive Functioning Skills and how deficits impact behavior 
  • Define the five core competencies of Social Emotional Learning 
  • Learn strategies to strengthen Executive Functioning Skills and Social Emotional Learning Skills 
  • Connect Social Emotional Learning and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
