New Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith announced Thursday on The Woj Pod that for every Jazz win this year, a four-year-scholarship will be offered to an underrepresented or minority student.

He said on the show with Adrian Wojnarowski:

I truly believe that we have platforms to do good. And systemic racism or unconscious bias around racial issues or social issues, it's real... I just want to look back and say, hey, I did everything I possibly could to make the world a more equitable place.

Smith also discussed transforming the team's fandom into a buying franchise. He elaborated on the extension talks with Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, and how he intends to leverage the NBA platform for social equality and charity.
