The FBI announced Tuesday they are searching for information about a man in connection to the disappearance of Morgan Nick.

On June 9, 1995, six-year-old Morgan was at a little league baseball game in Alma with her family when she was taken. Her case remains unsolved and the investigation is still active today.

"This is a long case that we are not letting up on. It is a significant case in Arkansas," said Connor Hagan, public affairs officer with FBI Little Rock.

Agents said around two months after Morgan’s disappearance, Billy Jack Lincks attempted to abduct a young girl in Van Buren at a location eight miles from the Wofford baseball field where Morgan was last seen.

"You've got a case that has thousands of leads and hundreds of interviews. Some of the evidence that we've shared, we've put out there and it's pretty well known," said Hagan. "There's other evidence that we're keeping close hold. I think the biggest red flag is obviously that incident that occurred just months after Morgan Nick's abduction.

However, he later died in prison in 2000.

"We understand that with him being dead for over 20 years now, some of this information may be coming from secondary sources, people who heard about him. That's fine. No detail is too small," Hagan said.

Lincks reportedly served with the U.S. Army during World War II and then worked at Braniff Airlines in Dallas, TX from 1962-1974. He returned to Van Buren sometime in the late 1970s.

The FBI said they are now asking anyone who knew Lincks, whether it was through school, work, church, or any social activity, to contact them.

"This is something that haunts many Arkansas families, and many people growing up knew the Morgan Nick story," added Hagan. "We want to help bring closure to the Nick family and hopefully getting information about Mr. Lincks will help us do that."

In December of 2017, authorities in Oklahoma combed through a site in Spiro, which investigators searched in 2010 in connection with Morgan's disappearance.

In 2020, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children released a new age-progression photo of what Morgan would look like at the age of 31.

If you knew Billy Jack Lincks or have any information about him and his life, please contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
