Sen. Lindsey Graham talks about impeachment, 2020 at Iowa GOP event
South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham spoke at the Republican Party of Iowa's Lincoln-Reagan Dinner in Des Moines.
Graham was the keynote speaker for the event Friday at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown.
"The theme for tonight is socialism sucks, eat more pork, drink more ethanol," said Graham.
The South Carolina senator began his speech with a few jokes.
"People asked me, 'what happened with President Trump?' I said, 'We found something in common: I like him and he likes him,'" said Graham.
During his speech, Graham also addressed the impeachment proceedings, calling them "a joke."
"From the time he gets up and goes to bed, they've been trying to destroy his presidency. They hate what you stand for. This is a war," said Graham.
The senator urged people to be patient in regards to recent tariffs.
"Trump's got to do this right. Everybody for the last 30 years talked about China's cheating, and we finally got a guy who's actually doing something about it," said Graham.
Graham also touched up the 2020 election.
"I'll make a prediction. I think Donald Trump is gonna kick their ass," said Graham.
Iowa Sens. Charles Grassley and Joni Ernst also spoke at the event.
