Non-BYU Students

If you are attending a college or university other than BYU-Provo you may be able to take the FLATS test at your school, or at another school nearby.

If you are not a BYU-Provo student yet, and you plan to become a BYU-Provo student in the future, it would be best if you don’t take the FLATS test before coming to BYU (unless BYU doesn’t teach your language). Once you begin attending BYU-Provo, you will need to register for the 300-level class in your language. During the course, you will receive instruction on how to register for the 16-credit, graded challenge exam. Please contact the BYU Center for Language Studies for more information.
