The HU Storm’s Overwatch team is returning home as National Champions after dominating the inaugural ESPN Collegiate Esports Championship in Houston last weekend.
Following a 33-0 season, The Storm vied against the Elite 8 in collegiate Overwatch competition in Houston.
The Storm bested the New Jersey Institute of Technology in the quarterfinals 3-0; Maryville University 3-2; and the University of Utah, 3-1, to bring home the Championship.
ESPN hosted 22 qualifying teams from 20 schools and universities from across the U.S. and Canada. Teams competed in Overwatch, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Hearthstone, StarCraft II, and Heroes of the Storm at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston.
