I recall a giant fake gator on our sidelines circa 80s.

I believe that it was made for the 1980 horror film “Alligator.”

Does anyone have photos or know of a link an article bout it?

I’ve tried to tell my nephews about it, but they should like proof.

Yep,  remember that.  It’s was from the movie and had animatronic effects that opened the jaws.

Going back further, we used to have a live alligator pen on campus, near Century Tower I believe.

I also recall red eyes and smoke/steam that would come from the nostrils.

Then again, it has been while.

I mean.. we have a pretty good engineering school..  why not make a new robot gator?  The only issue is we couldnt keep it on the field the whole time because there isnt much space out there.
