Named Collegiate Baseball Co-National Freshman of the Year, first-team All-America and Freshman All-America • Baseball America and D1 Baseball first-team Freshman All-America and third-team All-America • NCBWA National Freshman Hitter of the Year • ABCA/Rawlings first-team All-America • Perfect Game first-team Freshman All-America • ACC Freshman of the Year and first-team All-ACC.

Set Carolina freshman record for home runs in a season with 18, surpassing Chad Flack’s 15 in 2005 • Also led the team in batting average (.343), hits (79), doubles (25), RBI (63) and slugging percentage (.696) • OPS of 1.149 is the third highest in Mike Fox’s 21 seasons as UNC’s head coach • Had 44 extra-base hits, which tied the second most in a season by a Tar Heel with Kyle Seager (2008) and Dustin Ackley (2009) • The 18 home runs tied for eighth most in a season by a Tar Heel (most ever in the BBCOR era) • Homered twice against Miami on 3/17 and Auburn on 6/10 in the NCAA Super Regional• Had 24 multi-hit games and 18 multi-RBI games • Season-long 11-game hitting streak • Ended the season reaching base safely in 28 consecutive games • Became the third Tar Heel in the Fox era to hit for the cycle when he accomplished the feat and drove in four runs against NC State on 5/16 • Hit safely in nine of 10 postseason games.

Ranked the No. 2 shortstop and No. 4 player in New York and No. 35 shortstop in the country by Perfect Game • Hit .560 with 14 home runs in 22 games as a senior • Three-time FAA Tournament champion • 2017 Perfect Game Underclassmen second-team All-America • Coached by Johnny Montanez at Brunswick.
