Young Inventors STEM Competitions Fundraiser
Hi,
My name is Rex. I am a 7th-grade student at a middle school in Ashburn, VA. I'm fundraising for my competition at the Raytheon Technologies Invention Convention US Nationals, held in Dearborn, Michigan, on June 1-3, 2022 (https://inhub.thehenryford.org/icw/competitions/us-nationals-landing).
I was inspired to create a low-cost, portable, versatile and internet-connected smart air quality monitor after looking into accessibility problems with air pollution awareness for the public, especially in underserved communities. I realized how important it was to monitor the air quality to ensure healthy living.
My invention qualified me for the Invention Convention US Nationals. I wish to participate in the Invention Convention U.S. Nationals not for the awards, but for the experience and the inspiration it can give me when meeting all the other young inventors. Taking part in this event will expose me to many new ideas and creative perspectives that I can learn from and possibly use in the future. This event will also allow me to learn different strategies and troubleshooting tips to overcome challenges, both as a student doing schoolwork and as an innovator/inventor, by observing all the different solutions other inventors came up with to solve their unique problems.
The funds raised will help cover the round trip from Virginia to Michigan and the registration fee for the Convention. Thank you for your generosity!
