The Internationalization Grant program awards up to $5,000 for projects that advance the university’s internationalization agenda.
The Internationalization Grant program awards up to $5,000 for projects which advance the University’s internationalization goals and expand global engagement in the colleges and divisions. For 2023-24, we are pleased to offer support in three grant tracks aligned with Oregon State University’s new strategic plan, “Prosperity Widely Shared.” The grants are funded by the INTO OSU Joint Venture Internationalization Fund and cannot be used to make direct payments to employees or students.
For all tracks, we hope to see matched funding from the applicant's home unit equal to the amount requested in the Internationalization Grant proposal, when possible. Other forms of departmental support may be noted in addition to or in lieu of matched funds. In all cases, the letter of support from unit leadership should address how the project aligns with strategic objectives; scalability, sustainability, and impact of the proposed work; and explanation of financial or other forms of internal support provided to the applicant.

Open to academic faculty.
This track is intended to stimulate transdisciplinary research projects aligned with OSU’s strategic focus areas in collaboration with overseas institutions, governments, and industry partners to advance OSU’s strategic goals and build global reputation.
Open to academic and professional faculty, INTO OSU employees, and Recognized/Departmental Student Organizations.
This track solicits proposals which create global learning opportunities and enable students to develop intercultural competence through curriculum, pedagogy, and experiential learning, to prepare OSU graduates to successfully navigate a highly globalized world. (Please consult with OSU GO before submitting if you are proposing any activity that involves the development of international education experiences [study programs, internships or research] for students.)
Open to academic and professional faculty and INTO OSU employees.
This track provides opportunities to deepen professional development opportunities for international and domestic students, in collaboration with overseas alumni, corporate organizations, non-profits and government partnerships. Initiatives with the capacity for translating research to applications that contribute solutions to the world’s greatest challenges are encouraged.
Funding must be utilized within 12 months of receipt and cannot be carried over.
Successful recipients are expected to provide a brief summary (up to 4 pages) of project outcomes and any proposed next steps within one month of completion.
We also ask that recipients thank or give credit to the Fund when the opportunity presents itself.
