All art and accompanying documents must be delivered to Congressman Gallagher’s district office, 1702 Scheuring Road in De Pere, by 4 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024. Upon submitting art and the required documents, the student acknowledges the artwork meets all eligibility requirements outlined in the Contest Rules and Regulations.

Entries must comply with subject matter regulations as specified in the Contest Rules and Regulations. Entries must be original in concept, design and execution and may not violate any U.S. copyright laws. Any entry that has been copied from an existing photo or image (including a painting, graphic, or advertisement) that was created by someone other than the student is a violation of the competition rules and thus ineligible. Work entered must be in the original medium (that is, not a scanned reproduction of a painting or drawing) Art may not exceed 26 inches high by 26 inches wide by 4 inches deep if/when framed. Framing is optional but will be required should the art be selected among the top three entries. Any entry that exceeds the dimensions, with or without a frame, will be considered ineligible. Please note the size restrictions are based on dimensions and not on the total surface area of the artwork. (E.g., art 20 x 28 would be ineligible.)

A public exhibit of eligible entries will run April 6 through May 12, 2024, at the Neville Public Museum in Green Bay. Judged by an independent panel, the winning entry will be displayed alongside art from across the country in the Cannon Tunnel of the Capitol complex in Washington, DC, for one year. Click here to view the current display in the Cannon Tunnel. The second-place entry will be displayed in Congressman Gallagher’s Washington DC office, and the third-place selection will be displayed in his district office in De Pere.

The first-place awardee will receive an invitation with roundtrip airfare to Washington, DC, for a June reception with high school artists from across the country. Congressman Gallagher will also host a private reception for 8th District participants. Participants this year are eligible to win one-year family memberships to the Neville Public Museum and the Trout Museum of Art.
