ASHWAUBENON (WLUK) -- Anduzzi's leaders say they will not move forward with a plan to build a restaurant and entertainment complex near the Resch Center after the village of Ashwaubenon rejected a request for public financial assistance.

The company was proposing the three-story venue for the former Imperial Inc. headquarters, 789 Armed Forces Dr.

While the village board approved the project on Tuesday, it later denied the request for tax incremental financing funding.

"Obviously disappointed in the outcome. I wish we could be having a more exciting discussion about the business models and plans for the site. But with the Village unwilling to support the development, we're unable to move forward," Anduzzi's operations officer Mac Cisar wrote in an email to FOX 11.

"We have 93% of the project Self-Funded, and only requested the remaining 7% of assistance. Unfortunately Ashwaubenon decided they didn't have the appetite for it."

Under tax incremental financing, part of property tax revenues are diverted from agencies such as school districts to pay for improvements to a property.

The building was to have a bar/restaurant on both its first and second levels and a rentable event space on the third floor. The proposal also includes an outdoor performance stage, paved outdoor seating areas and patios and a synthetic turf outdoor activity area.

Nearby competitors Stadium View and The Bar raised concerns about parking capacity in the area.
