Abilene ISD is constructing a memorial wall near Dyess Elementary School that will include the names of AISD graduates, employees, and former students who served in the United States Armed Forces and have passed away. Veterans did not have to be killed in action to be nominated. Students who withdrew to serve in the Armed Forces and did not graduate from AISD also qualify for nomination.

The first dedication of names is planned for Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11, 2022). Those wishing to have their loved ones or friends recognized in the inaugural dedication ceremony must fill out the submission form by Sept. 15, 2022.
