The Mead seeks enthusiastic, reliable film fans to join the Screening Committee for the annual Margaret Mead Film Festival which will take place at the American Museum of Natural History from December 4th—6th.

We've seen a dramatic increase in our submissions year to year, and because our lineup draws significantly from this open submissions, we want to make sure to give each entry proper consideration. Between now and the end of July, we estimate you would be the first person to watch approximately 50 films, but we're flexible about that number if there's any concern or if you're limited in how much time you can devote.

Screening Committee members access films via FilmFreeway, and enter reviews via a simple Google Form. Works scoring above a certain threshold are moved forward in the process and assessed by the programming team. We will hold 1-2 committee meetings to hear about promising work that has been screened, but otherwise, for any especially strong titles, committee members should feel free to email the programming team a heads up so that we can make sure to give consideration earlier rather than later!
