We Care for Us: Inspiring Self-Confidence and Community Wellness (Youth Registration)
AALEAD is excited to be hosting a four-part mental health education workshop series for Asian American Pacific Islander middle school youth and their respective parents/caregivers/family members for the third year in a row!

Participants will explore topics of health & wellness, cultural confidence, interpersonal relationships, AAPI community building, and many other conversations impacting AAPI youth.  Early mental health education can be empowering and equip us with the tools to support ourselves, our loved ones, and our community.  Participants must identify as AAPI and be a resident of Montgomery County in order to attend.

By registering for this workshop, you will be joining a cohort of approximately 25 middle schoolers that will be getting a strong understanding of mental health education.  You will be expected to attend four workshops and will receive rewards for doing so! The four workshops will be on Saturdays from 9:30am - 1:30pm at the Bauer Community Center (14625 Bauer Dr, Rockville, MD 20853) in Montgomery County. The dates are as follows:

Saturday, March 2, 2024 (Youth & Parents/Family Members)
Saturday, March 16, 2024 (Youth ONLY)
Saturday, April 6, 2024 (Youth ONLY)
Saturday, April 20, 2024 (Youth ONLY)

Each workshop will include interactive speaker-led presentations, mindfulness practices, personal discussion, and catered lunches.  Youth who attend all four sessions have the opportunity to earn a stipend of $50 OR SSL hours. Stipends are guaranteed to the first 25 registrants.

For any questions, please e-mail Joseph Malasa at jmalasa@aalead.org.

This program and its activities are funded by the Asian American Health Initiative (AAHI), a part of the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, and the Primary Care Coalition (PCC).
