The QU Advancing Diversity in Science (QUADS) program is currently recruiting QU students as Mentors for an after-school student group referred to as a QUAD Pod. A QUAD Pod will consist of a secondary science teacher, 10-12 high school 10th graders, 2-3 QU student mentors, and QU faculty. QUADS focuses on equity and justice centered approaches to science instruction. The ideal QUADS participant embodies and welcomes that focus.

Year Expectations:

Sept-Nov 2023
20 hours total professional learning workshops at QU: 5 Saturdays 8am-12pm

Nov 2023-May 2024
1 hour per week at school site engaging with Students and Teacher
12 hours professional learning workshops at QU School Days (Jan/Feb/Mar)

June 2024
30-40 hours 1 week Summer Experience at QU: Mon-Fri (Times/Dates TBD)

Compensation: An hourly wage of $20 per hour (total compensation up to $1400 per year) based upon successful completion of QUADS program workshops, activities, and expectations.
