OSU was recently selected to lead the National Science Foundation Polar STEAM initiative. The programs will engage educators, artists, writers and polar scientists in authentic collaborations that result in creative works and STEAM educational resources. You are invited to join the OSU Polar STEAM team and collaborators for a celebration of the building STEAM at OSU. The event includes a brief introduction to the OSU approach to Polar STEAM, including collaborations with the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts. Our own Dr. Kim Bernard and Salem-based artists April Waters will highlight the history of the Antarctic Artists and Writers program with stories of their collaboration. Attendees will be invited to participate in a STEAM education interactive demonstration with Dr. Susan Rowe and Precollege Programs’ partners Oregon-based Rainbow Dance Theatre Company and musician and technologist Victor Villegas from OSU Cooperative Extension.
