Forest Field Days Volunteer Resources
Volunteer with us for Forest Field Days! As a volunteer, you work one of five stations that teaches students about Oregon’s forest resources: Wildlife, Soil, Water, Recreation, Timber. We provide the information that you need to successfully run the station, which you can access beforehand on this webpage. We also offer in-person training the morning of the event. During the field day, the students rotate through the stations with a field datasheet in hand, which guides the lesson and focuses learning. Each student group has a teacher or parent chaperone present, and the groups are small, ranging from seven to twelve depending on the station.
The information below is for Forest Field Day volunteers to prepare and use on the day of the event. Please review the documents, and contact us if you have any questions. You will receive emails with this information, and specific information about the school you signed up to work with in advance of the Forest Field Day when you are volunteering.
