Rev. Dr. Quintin and Lindsay Cundiff

Serving the Lord in Latvia — Theological Educator

Bio

The Rev. Dr. Quintin and Lindsay Cundiff serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Riga, Latvia. In this role, Quintin teaches at the Luther Academy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia, an LCMS partner church. He assists in the education and pastoral formation of ministry candidates who come from around Eurasia to attend the academy. He also is involved in starting an English-language service in Riga for expats and English speakers.

Quintin is a native of Oberlin, Kan., and he has a bachelor’s degree in history from Concordia University, Nebraska, Seward, Neb.; a Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis; and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne. During his career, he has served congregations in Oregon, New Mexico and Nebraska. He also assisted with planting St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, N.M., and served as the pastoral counselor for the LCMS Rocky Mountain District’s Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. In his free time, Quintin enjoys reading, cooking, painting, writing and watching ice hockey.

Lindsay grew up in Farnhamville, Iowa, and she has a diploma of Practical Nursing from Hamilton College in Lincoln, Neb., and an associate degree in nursing from Central Community College in Nebraska. She has previously worked in nursing homes and medical facilities in Missouri, Iowa, Oregon, New Mexico and Nebraska. At church, she has served as a Sunday school teacher, a parish nurse and a newsletter editor, among other things. In her free time, Lindsay enjoys music, movies, reading historical fiction, gardening and caring for pets. The Cundiffs have one son, Carter.

Prayers

Pray for the Cundiffs as they serve in Riga. Ask God to watch over them and give them good health to serve Him to the best of their ability. Pray that God would use them to prepare Lutheran pastors to preach Christ and Him crucified wherever they are. Let us give thanks that the Cundiffs are serving God’s children in this part of the world.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose, when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution toward another aspect of ministry that aligns closely the contributor’s goals and values. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.

Consistent with Synod Board policy and in recognition of a more challenging economic and philanthropic/fundraising environment due to inflationary pressure, not more than 12.5 percent of any charitable contribution will be allocated to administering gifts and communicating with contributors. Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
