Girls Explore STEM

OPEN TO ALL GIRLS* GRADES 6 THROUGH 12

Hey there, future scientists, engineers, and innovators!

The fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are rapidly evolving, and professionals in these areas are in high demand. By 2028, STEM jobs are projected to grow by 8.8%, compared to 5.0% for non-STEM jobs. Engaging in STEM activities now can pave the way for a promising future. Join us for an incredible hands-on experience at WSU Everett!

πŸ“…  Saturday, March 2, 2024  |  πŸ•™  10:00 am – 4:00 pm. | Lunch provided!

Parents and guardians: while future STEM-ers are exploring, you’re invited to relax, enjoy some refreshments, and visit our resource fair.

*WSU Everett champions diversity, equity, and inclusion. We warmly invite all individuals from grades 6-12 to join us in a collaborative environment that addresses the gender disparity in STEM education and career pathways for those who identify as female.

πŸ“Œ Did You Know?

In the United States, women make up half of the total U.S. college-educated workforce, but they only constitute 28% of the science and engineering workforce. This underrepresentation is not due to a lack of interest or capability but often due to societal and cultural barriers. Encouraging girls to participate in STEM activities from a young age can help bridge this gap, fostering a more diverse and inclusive future for these fields.

By joining us for this event, girls can take a step towards breaking these barriers and envision themselves as the next generation of STEM leaders.
