We believe in creating more equitable communities where all people have a home. This vision is in jeopardy as the pandemic and economic downturn are making our housing crisis much worse. A now looming eviction crisis will impact communities across the state, unless our elected leaders act.

Join us as we take this first step and engage our local candidates for public office in this needed and urgent discussion. We will engage the candidates in a conversation to hear their vision for who will make decisions about who gets housed, the crisis of homelessness, and the long term solutions, like Bring it Home, MN, Beacon’s rent subsidy campaign.

For this meeting we’re inviting commissioner candidates for districts 1, 5, 6 and 7 of Hennepin County. These commissioners would have tremendous power in determining both capital and service funding. Our conversation with them will focus on the state of local encampments, prioritizing supportive housing for families, and transparency in their decision-making process.
