Help The Pink Buffalo

UPDATE: Insurance is ONLY covering fixtures as this is technically a second hand store

Hi my name is Kacee Brogren and I am creating this Go Fund Me for my aunt and uncle who are the owners of the Pink Buffalo in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Many of you may know there was a horrid fire that took place downtown Detroit Lakes yesterday, however what you might not know is that the fire started in an apartment above their store and Mattson's Barber Shop. These apartments, T.P.B, and the Barber shop suffered the majority of the damage even though it did spread to the mall as well.

My aunt and uncle poured their whole hearts, souls, bodies, minds, money, and everything into this store and now they are left with absolutely nothing. The contents and the store suffered severe smoke damage, fire damage, and water damage. We are just so thankful that no body was hurt nor were their any deaths.

However, to them this was more than just a store. The Pink Buffalo's name is near and dear to them. 1) Pink represents cancer. My aunt herself is a strong survivor and went through the horrible journey of Breast Cancer. She wanted this to be known as many women each day suffer from this daily. 2) Buffalo is in honor of her father who grew up in Buffalo ND and also owned and operated Buffalo Express and Trucking.

As you can see this store meant everything to them. I spoke to my aunt this morning and their hearts just ache and they both of them feel so loss and without purpose now. They never expected when they woke up yesterday morning that this would happen.

I'm asking our Detroit Lakes community to please come together in anyway you can and try to help. Whether you can donate $1, $10, $100 it truly would mean the world for them. As this store was their only source of income the money will go towards the merchandise they lost that included many antiques, collectables, one of a kind items that cannot be replaced, and decor pieces, as well as their shelving, equipment, wages, etc.
