| Suggestions for making NPAW 2020 a good experience for yourself and others
| Navigating social etiquette and behavior expectations can be challenging. Mic on or off? Camera on or off? When is it the right time to talk? How much silence is good after a question? What is appropriate attire?
| ||||||
| - Illegal and inappropriate behavior is not tolerated. This is true for acts or comments that demean another person for any reason, but particularly of gender, gender identity or expression, race, religion, ethnicity, age or physical ability. Refrain from comments that are unwelcome or offensive to members of the community.
| - It is expected that microphones will be muted unless you are invited to speak by moderators or hosts of the event.
| - Questions for speakers should be typed into the chat or Q&A window, if one is available.
| - If direct messaging other participants is enabled, you are expected to be professional.
| - For meetings that enable your camera, you may choose to have it on or off. When cameras are on, keep in mind that you might be recorded. Any recordings should be announced prior to the start.
| - If you will have your camera on, please be aware of your clothing and backgroud. Do not wear or display offensive or demeaning items.
| - Please be patient in the event of technical difficulties and interruptions.
| - Please be punctual and give yourself time to set up your personal equipment to verify your connection.
