12:30pm-3:00pm: Telemachus' Journey (Odyssey books 1-4) Odysseus's son, Telemachus, goes on a journey across the Greek mainland in search of news of his father. Odysseys has been gone for twenty years, and Telemachus desperately needs him to come home. A group of young men, "the suitors" are plotting to kill Telemachus and force Odysseus's wife Penelope to marry one of them. Telemachus visits his father's old friends, King Nestor of Pylos and King Menelaus and Queen Helen of Sparta, and discovers that Odysseus is on his way and will return home to Ithaca very soon.

3:00pm-5:00pm: The Island of the Phaeacians (Odyssey books 5-8): Odysseus escapes from the island of the sea goddess Calypso, where he has been held captive for the past seven years. He is shipwrecked on the island of the Phaeacians, but he is saved by the Princess Nausicaa. She brings him home to her parents, King Alcinous and Queen Arete, who welcome him generously and ask to hear his story.

Along the way, he encountered the cyclops Polyphemus, the witch Circe, the monster Scylla and the whirlpool Charybdis, and even went down to the underworld to consult with the ghosts of the dead.

10:00am-4:00pm: Odysseus Arrives in Ithaca (Odyssey books 13-16): Odysseus has finally made it back to his home island, Ithaca, but he finds that much has changed in the years that he was away. A group of young men, "the suitors" have taken over his palace and are eating his food, abusing his people, and threatening his wife Penelope and son Telemachus. It isn't yet safe for Odysseus to reveal his return. Luckily, with the help of the goddess Athena, he finds an ally in his old swineherd, Eumaeus, and is reunited with his son, Telemachus. Together, the three of them hatch a plot to sneak into the palace, kill the suitors, and rescue Penelope.

12:00pm-2:00pm: Odysseus and his Allies infiltrate the Palace (Odyssey books 17-20): Odysseus sneaks into the palace disguised as a beggar with Eumaeus's help, while Telemachus returns separately. The suitors abuse him but allow him to beg at their table. Penelope does not recognize him, but she arranges to meet with him to ask if the "stranger" has heard any news of her husband. Odysseus tells her not to worry, everything will turn out well. With his encouragement, Penelope decides to challenge the suitors to an archery contest the next day, promising to marry which ever man can shoot Odysseus's bow. Odysseus passes the word to his allies to remove all the weapons from the hall, then shut him in the room with the suitors and the bow, so that he can win the contest and spring the trap.

2:00pm-4:00pm: Odysseus Returns (Odyssey books 21-24): Odysseus is the only person who can string his old bow. With it, he and Telemachus kill the suitors and reclaim the palace. Odysseus is reunited with Penelope at last, and they go to visit his old father Laertes. In the Underworld, the suitors complain about their treatment, but the other ghosts are glad that Odysseus was able to reclaim his wife and kingdom. Athena makes peace between Odysseus and the suitors' families, and Odysseus is truly home at last.
