The UMBC Meyerhoff program is open to all high-achieving high school seniors who plan to pursue undergraduate studies in STEM. Merit scholarship awards range from $5,000 to $15,000 per year for in-state students. Students interested in Meyerhoff are encouraged to complete the UMBC application for admissions using the November 1 Early Action deadline.
Benefits & Eligibility:
- Minimum of 600 on the Math component of the SAT or a composite score of 24 on the ACT (if provided – as the Meyerhoff Program adheres to UMBC’s test requirement guidelines)
- Cumulative High School GPA of a 3.0 or above
- Aspire to obtain a Ph.D. or the combined M.D./Ph.D. in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Display commitment to community service
- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States
Step-By-Step Application Process
THIS NOMINATION REQUEST FORM WILL BE REVIEWED FOR OVERALL ELIGIBILITY (GPA, SSL hours to date & College Test Scores if available). You will be notified by mcpsmd.net email when your nomination has been submitted to the UMBC Meyerhoff Program. Once nominated, you will be responsible for checking your personal email account for UMBC Meyerhoff notification and application completion.
THIS FORM MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 10. Submission of this form will act as authorization for Northwest High School to submit your nomination to the UMBC Meyerhoff Program.
