Silver Creek Middle School Current Grade 7/Rising Grade 8 Course Registration Form for the 2023 - 2024 School Year

It is time to select courses for next school year. All students will be registered for seven (7) classes. Students will automatically be registered for their grade level English, Science, Social Studies, and PE/HL courses. For Math, students will be registered for the next course in the MCPS Math Pathway. If a student is currently in a reading course, we will use teacher recommendations and student performance data to determine the next reading course in which they should be enrolled. If it is determined that a student no longer needs a reading class and is ready to participate in a World Language, then they will be able to choose the language they would like to learn in the World Language Section of this form. For students already taking a World Language, they will be enrolled in the next level of the language. This leaves the Elective course. All students will select the course they would like to take for their Elective. In fact, we are asking that students select their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice of electives. We always do our best to honor a student's first choice. If there is a scheduling conflict, we will use the second and then third choice if necessary to create a full schedule with seven classes.
