Permission Form for BRMS MINECRAFT Club

Blue Ridge Middle School's PTO is proud to sponser a free Minecraft “Club” exclusively for Blue Ridge students interested in playing Minecraft with fellow BRMS students in a safe and inviting environment.

David Bock, a Blue Ridge parent and Director of LoudounCodes, is setting up a Minecraft server that will have various  “special” Minecraft games available from 4 pm-6 pm on Mondays and “standard” Minecraft building/game mode available for most evenings from 4 pm-9 pm and weekends from 9 am-9 pm.

The server will be set up to be ‘anti-griefing’ (students won’t be able to destroy each other’s “bases” or steal stuff out of their chests), prevent foul language, and will keep a chat history. Also, since this is a virtual “club” that students will participate in from home, parents will be responsible for monitoring their child’s online behavior.

The goal is for students to strengthen friendships inside and outside of school as they work together in an online environment. The community will be open to all students, grades 6-8.

Students will use their personal Minecraft account when participating in the world.

The server will require the Java edition of Minecraft running on a PC or Mac; XBox and mobile versions of Minecraft cannot connect to private servers.
