Tech Theater Application 2024/25

Thank you for your interest in Tech Theatre for the 2024/25 school year. In this program students will use power tools, lift heavy objects, paint, draw, craft, support all Auditorium events, and must work maturely, safely and independently.

Rising sophomores are eligible for Technical Theatre courses.  All students must have completed HS Beginner Theatre Arts OR have previous Technical Theatre experience. 

Beginner In Class Crew Workers This class is for those who love to clean, organize, paint, do small projects and follow directions. You will learn the basics of all areas of tech; lighting, sound, stage mgmt, costumes, props, make up, etc while supporting the productions at Hough. Students will move up from this class to the more advanced levels, but those wishing to remain Crew and not advance to leadership positions can repeat these courses for credit. 

Intermediate: In Class Crew Worker Leaders

Proficient/Advanced Production Crew Chiefs/Designers/Stage Managers: (Honors credit) This class is for students who are committed to working as leaders both in class and outside of the school hours in their chosen role. Students must take on a leadership role and commit to at least 30+ hrs of non-class time (after school/weekends/school day/summer).  Students can repeat these courses for credit.

Teacher Recommendation
You must provide the names and email addresses of two Hough teachers who can recommend you for this class.  These teachers will be contacted to fill out a recommendation form.
