*The current password is the one used to access StudentVUE or log into MCPS desktops. The student’s Google password used to log into Chromebooks may be different than the password needed here, if the student chose to change it at any point. | |

Grade / Accommodation | Login | Password Criteria |
PreK – K Grades | Student ID | Four character long passwords, letters or numbers |
Firsts – Fifth Grades | Student ID | Five or more characters long, letters or numbers |
Sixth – Eighth Grades | Student ID | Six character long passwords, letters and numbers |
Ninth – Twelfth Grades | Student ID | Seven character long passwords, upper and lower letters and numbers |
Students with IEPs | Student ID | One character long passwords, letters or numbers |
Students will use this password to access any MCPS applications that take their student ID as the username. **Note, some applications require studentID@mcpsmd.net while others, just studentID
Yes, students do have the ability to do this, but it is not recommended. It is recommended that students utilize the Student Password Manager application to reset their password as that keeps their password consistent across MCPS applications that take their student ID as the username.
School based staff members have access to look up student passwords. Certain job roles including teachers and ITSSs have access to reset them for the student.
