I tried to log into Zoom and got a Google 403 error

I’m getting the error message, “You cannot sign in at this time. Contact your account admin for more information.”

Joining a Meeting | Chromebooks

Progressive Web App

When joining a Zoom meeting from a Chromebook, students can join and participate in a Zoom meeting using the Progressive Web App (PWA). The PWA is now the default option when using a Chromebook and will replace the current Chrome OS App effective June 2022.

  1. Login to the Chromebook using your MCPS Google email address & password.
  2. Locate the link to the Zoom meeting (in Canvas course, or a shared Google Doc, etc…) and click the meeting link to join the Zoom meeting.
  3. The Zoom for Chrome App (PWA) will launch automatically.
  4. Enter your Name, select how you will Join with Audio, if you want Video on and then click Join.
  5. You will be placed in the waiting room until a staff member admits you.

Joining a Meeting | Mac/Windows

Students can join and participate in a Zoom meeting from a Windows-based or a Mac-based desktop or laptop computer using the Zoom application.

  1. Download the Windows or Mac application: https://zoom.us/support/download
  2. After installing the application, refer to the Zoom support article: Getting Started on Windows and Mac
  3. Locate the link to the Zoom meeting (in Canvas course, or a shared Google Doc, etc…) and click the meeting link to join the Zoom.
  4. The Zoom client will open and automatically log you into the meeting.
  5. You will be placed in the waiting room until a staff member admits you.

Joining a Meeting | iOS/Android

Students can join and participate in a Zoom meeting from an Android or iOS phone using the Zoom application.

  1. Download the application for your phone’s OS:

  2. For Android devices, click this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=us.zoom.videomeetings&hl=en_US

Troubleshooting

I tried to log into Zoom and got a Google 403 error

You may be signed into a non-MCPS G Suite account.  Be sure to sign out of Chrome from this account and sign in to Chrome or create a new Chrome profile using your MCPS account before navigating to the training.

I’m not using the Google Chrome browser

You may be signed into a non-MCPS G Suite account.  Visit https://www.google.com and look in the upper right-hand corner to determine which account is signed into Google Apps.  If you are signed into a non-MCPS G Suite account, click your profile icon and then click Sign out.
