CORE CLASSES

Language Arts

  • Students should read 20 minutes per day 5-6 days per week outside of class.
  • A plot summative is scheduled for Friday, October 8th. Updated study materials and notes will be posted in Schoology.
  • Students will practice using capitalization rules in writing. They will also identify and use nouns, pronouns and verbs.
  • Students will annotate texts to show their thinking about their reading. A summative is planned for Friday, October 15th.

Math

Math 6

  • The Unit 3 Test is scheduled for Wed 10/13 (A Day) or Thurs 10/14 (B Day). The Unit 3 Study Guide is due on the day of the test.
  • Students must complete 5 topics per week.
  • Reminder: Use Schoology to see updated notes and homework assignments.

Foundations of Algebra

  • The Unit 2 Test is scheduled for Fri 10/8 (A Day) or Tues 10/12 (B Day). The Unit 2 Study Guide is due on the day of the test.

Science

  • We have journeyed into space! Students have been learning about objects in our solar system and how they are organized. They will be learning how gravity influences these objects and how they move as a result of this influence. As we learn about characteristics of each of the planets, we will be focusing on Earth’s unique properties and how life is possible on this planet.
  • Students will have their objects in the solar system and gravity summative on Monday, October 4 (A day) and Tuesday, October 5 (B day). Look on Schoology for review and study resources for the upcoming assessment.

Social Sciences

  • Last week, we completed our first summative assessment on artifacts, primary & secondary sources, and observation and inference and began a new mini-unit on Resources and US Geographic Regions. The summative assessment for this unit will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 6th (A Day History students) and Thursday, Oct. 7th. (B Day History students).
