Stephen Colbert suggested Tuesday that President Joe Biden slap Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy after pressing him at a Monday press briefing.

“Remember how on last night’s show I said that slapping is never, ever the answer? I would like to file a one-time exemption on behalf of the president of the United States,” Colbert said, in reference to actor Will Smith hitting comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards on Sunday.

Colbert then mocked Doocy for questioning a potential U.S. response to Russia if the country uses chemical weapons in Ukraine. (RELATED: Stephen Colbert Says He’ll Pay $15 A Gallon Because He Can Afford A Tesla)

“Uh, Peter Doocy, Fox News, I’ve got two more questions,” Colbert said. “First, what are the exact locations of all of America’s troops? And can you give me the nuclear launch codes? Just tell me, is one of them a four? Can I buy a vowel, Mr. President? I’d like to solve the puzzle, another feather in your map.”

At the Monday press conference, Doocy asked to go into specifics on the potential U.S. response if Russia uses chemical weapons.

“I’m not going to tell you,” Biden said. “Why would I tell you? That would be silly.”

“The world wants to know,” Doocy responded.

“The world wants to know a lot of things, I’m not telling them what the response would be,” the president pushed back. “Russia knows the response.”
