Rose McGowan Backs Larry Elder In Final Days Before Recall

Actress Rose McGowan endorsed Republican California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder on Sunday.

“They want to hear that the more we micro-label each other, the better we’ll be,” McGowan said Sunday, referring to people who want to cause divisiveness. “The reality is, today, I challenge this state, I challenge these voters, I challenge the media, to back up. Be human first, vote for humanity.”

McGowan then lambasted corporate media and white pundits for criticizing Elder because he’s black and not a Democrat.

“Understand who it’s coming from and that he might just know more than you living in a different skin,” McGowan said.

Elder issued a similar statement about media coverage of his campaign while speaking Friday on “Hannity,” claiming media hypocrisy was on display after he was attacked by a white woman wearing a gorilla mask.

“If this had been a ‘D’ at the end of my name they’d be calling it a hate crime and talk about how it is systemic racism, but this is the media double standard ever since I have been running,” Elder said.

McGowan spoke alongside Elder after she recently accused Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, of trying to silence McGowan’s accusations against disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

“So this woman, I don’t know, some blonde lady with the last name of Newsom, cold-calls me, and was like, ‘David Boies wants to know what it would take to make you happy,'” McGowan said while on The Rubin Report.

Elder is leading the polls among Newsom’s potential replacements ahead of Tuesday’s recall election.
