SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Democrat Francis Conole has won the NY-22 primary election and will face Republican nominee Brandon Williams in the November election.
Conole defeated other Democratic nominees with 40% of the votes.
Sara Klee Hood was runner-up in the race with Sam Roberts and Chol Majok trailing behind.
According to experts, Conole emerged as a frontrunner in the race and raised more than his three competitors combined.
National, left-leaning super PAC “Protect Our Future” raised over $510,000 in support of Conole for TV ads and mail services.
“I’ve earned the support of End Citizens United, which is the marquee organization to get money out of politics,” Conole said ahead of the election results on Tuesday. “That is something we champion in this district and all of the support I have received is because of the strength of this campaign.”
Conole preciously ran for Syracuse’s Congressional District NY-24, losing out to Dana Balter.
