2022 AZ Regional OER Conference -- Breakout Session Proposal
We are inviting proposals to facilitate breakout sessions focused on projects, initiatives, or insights involving Open Education. Proposals should keep the conference theme in mind and directly address one or more of the suggested breakout topics/tracks. At the same time, you are encouraged to shape your proposed session to best communicate your unique experiences with and ideas about open education at the local, regional, national, and/or global level.
Please note that presentation sessions will be 30 minutes in length, including time for questions. Hands-on workshops will be 60 minutes in length and should be designed such that attendees (virtually) walk away having developed a resource, designed a strategy, or contributed to a collaborative work.
Conference Theme: Building and Sustaining an Open Education Community
Suggested Topics/Tracks:
--Opportunities for collaboration across colleges/institutions
--Institutional OER initiatives: successes and lessons learned
--Engagement with students about OER and textbook costs
--Obstacles to OER adoption (and maybe how to overcome them)
--Technologies to support dissemination of OER
--Local, regional, national, and/or global arguments for OER
--Connecting K-12, community colleges, and universities
--Experiences authoring and remixing OER
--Open education and surviving challenging times
Finally, note that session titles are limited to 140 characters or less so that we may use them in social media posts related to Open Maricopa and Open Education Week 2022.
Call for Proposals Deadline: Monday, December 13, 2021. Proposals received after the deadline may not be considered.
