Schlessman Natatorium 2

The Venue
Still one of the finest facilities of its type in the Rocky Mountain Region after half a century of existence, Schlessman Natatorium serves as the home for Colorado College's varsity swimming and diving teams as well as a recreational facility for the entire campus community.

Most recent improvements, all part of a $27 million facelift to and expansion of the El Pomar Sports Center, were completed in spring of 2013. They include a new vestibule entrance, new bleachers and renovated locker rooms.

CC's aquatic complex, which also underwent a $1.25 million renovation in 1997 after being built originally in 1963, features 1- and 3-meter maxiflex diving boards above a 14-feet-deep diving well along with the pool's eight racing lanes.

The natatorium is equipped with an electronic Colorado Timing System for competition. And, with its southern exposure, the glass enclosed complex is able to draw passive solar heat from the winter sun, providing warmth for athletes and spectators alike.
