The American Hockey Coaches Association recognized six members of the Colorado College hockey team for academic excellence in 2018-19.
The AHCA's third-annual Krampade All-American Scholars list included recent graduates
Mason Bergh,
Andrew Farny,
Trevor Gooch,
Westin Michaud and
Tanner Ockey, and rising senior
Alex Pernitsky. The Tigers had the second-most players of any team in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.
Â
Bergh and Farny earned the distinction for the third consecutive year.
To be named an All-American Scholar, student-athletes must have earned a 3.6 grade-point average in each semester of the previous year and participated in at least 40 percent of their school's games. A few waivers were granted for players who were injured or for back-up goaltenders. In all, 292 Division I men's players were recognized.Â
The award is sponsored by Krampade, LLC, a Lincoln, Neb.-based company focused on mitigating and preventing cramp formation.
