The school's logo is visible both on the exterior of the building and inside, seen through a window. The logo is turquoise and shows a person speaking within a sound icon.

Magnolia Speech School (MSS) and Brasfield & Gorrie are excited to announce that the school’s new Madison campus has won a Gold Award from ABC Mississippi’s 2022 Excellence in Construction Awards. The project was considered in the Institutional $10-$25 million category.

“Magnolia Speech School makes a meaningful difference in the lives of its students and their families, and the school’s specialized capabilities draw students from the Jackson area and beyond,” Project Manager Glen Ulrich said. “Brasfield & Gorrie is passionate about building strong communities, and we’re honored to have built this new facility to serve a community we call home.”

The campus has many sustainable design features, including 13-inch-thick insulated concrete walls on most of the exterior and in the interior music and art room that doubles as a storm shelter. The walls throughout are 8 inches of concrete with 2.5 inches of insulation, providing not only a strong foundation with reduced insurance premiums but high efficiency for heating and cooling.
