Oliver Ice, one of Boston University’s notorious hockey players, has been on my radar since I slammed into his rock-hard body during my first week of college, three years ago. He helped me to my feet, muttered an apology, and ran off after his girlfriend, dashing my hopes of a happily ever after.

Now, he’s the bartender where I work, and this time, very much single. Night after night I watch the tall, broad, and sexy right winger mixing drinks and being Mr. Personality, while I remind myself how horribly my last relationship ended.

But when Oliver overhears a private conversation, he offers to be the one thing I need more than anything--my pretend boyfriend at a dreaded family reunion.

One weekend was all it was meant to be.

How do I protect my fragile heart when the lines between fantasy and reality blur with our first kiss?

ICED can be read as a standalone.

Just when I think that Jacob Chance can't possibly create a hero better than those who came before him, he goes and creates this PERFECTION! And that’s saying something, because some of his previous heroes own pieces of my heart. However, I love Love LOVE Oliver and Ava. This was an absolute joy to read. I love Jacob’s words and am always excited to see a new book of his hit my Kindle! Iced is a kick-butt standalone and not only did this book have all my favorite elements it also had the perfect charismatic Hero and a truly loveable Heroine. This is a book that you will get so completely lost in that you won’t even notice the time that has passed while reading it. I can’t even with how much I adored this book! Brilliant. Just brilliant.

I adored Ava and Oliver. ADORED. These two were perfect. From the way the author played them out individually and as a couple. Their chemistry was off the charts and their personalities bounced off of each other in such a flawless way. So many sweet little moments between these two. Jacob puts together characters you can’t help but fall in love with. Oliver was one of those. Just an all around good guy! He was endearingly sweet and had a heart of gold, and he just seems to shine through as an incredible man. He’s swoon worthy, and one I was head over heels for! I loved Ava. Absolutely loved her. I adored her character to the point where I kind of have a bit of a girl crush on her! She’s sweet, feisty and full of sass. Her lack of filter is hilarious! She was pure passion and fire. Its a beautiful thing. She’s probably my favorite female JC character to date. This story and their love are All. The Things! Ava and Oliver are a match made in romance heaven.

This is hands down my favorite Jacob Chance book. I love so many of his, but this one...it really got me, evoking so many emotions. And so many aspects of this story just resonated with me on a deeper level. I did not want to put it down or for it to end! This was the perfect sports/college/new adult romance! It had everything I wanted and more. It was a feel good, emotional as heck, and purely wonderful romance.

Once again Jacob Chance scored a winning goal with the second installment in his Boston Terriers Hockey Series, ICED. Every time I go to read a Jacob Chance story, It’s exciting and thrilling because you never know what he will bring to the table for his characters. It is why he is one of the best authors, so diverse and in the best way!

Oliver and Ava’s story is a bit different than what we are use to seeing in his characters but this story is nothing short of amazing and special. The H and h are a little broken in ways, but they are able to form a relationship/friendship because maybe they sense a kindred spirit in each other.

When Ava first meets Oliver she already has her opinion made of him and just doesn’t like him.
When Oliver meets Ava he is very much intrigued but knows he has to keep his distance and nothing can happen.

When a situation arises and Ava needs help who volunteers? Yep, everyone’s favorite hockey player, Oliver.
Ava soon learns you can’t judge a book by it’s cover, meaning Oliver. Oliver comes to realize that fighting his feelings is a lot harder than taking a fight on the ice.

This is an amazing story with characters you will just love!
I definitely recommend you grab this hockey bad boy up on Nov. 1st!

2.5⭐️ Do we really need more books like this?
In my opinion the easiest way to fail is when you take the trope and don’t add anything personal to it. It felt forced, repeated and in all honesty it was the longest 183 pages in my life. I didn’t feel the chemistry between the couple and I truly hated this long inner comments. A good romance doesn’t need a character to think stuff for the reader to know how he/she feels…

Well that was hot!! I hate calling a story sweet because I know that turns some people off but it really was sweet and then hot enough to melt the ice in the Terriers hockey arena. Ava & Oliver were friends first and sometimes that makes for the best relationships. Well done Jacob!

One of the aspects I enjoy about the Boston Terriers series' (both football and hockey) is getting more insight on the secondary characters; those who have already had their respective books, and those that are hopefully coming soon. This was how I met Oliver; he was introduced in a previous book. From the moment I met him, I wanted his story. He seemed like a genuine, loyal character and I needed to learn more about this interesting man. I won't go into any specific details but I will tell you that Oliver is recovering from a breakup. One he didn't see coming, so of course he was blindsided. I was hurting for him, but I knew he was better off. Otherwise, he wouldn't have given a second thought to Ava.

Ava has also gone through a breakup. And while I thought Oliver's ex was a rotten piece of you-know-what, Ava's ex was a jerk in the first degree. So, while Ava and Oliver navigate a platonic relationship, their true feelings won't stay hidden for too long. This book is definitely a slow burn. I appreciated the slower relationship development between Ava and Oliver that much more because of the pace of their growing relationship. Their connection was believable.

I definitely recommend this book. And while Iced can be read as a standalone, I promise you'll enjoy reading it even more if you read the other Boston Terriers books. They are all standalone sports romance with a side of comedy and filled with lovable characters. I can't wait for the next book n this series!

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it!

Scoring The Girl Has Never Been Sweeter

Oliver is a keeper! This right winger has all the right moves and will score with your heart!

Oliver is still recovering from the devastation of his long term relationship. He has sworn off women and relationships. His goal was to play hockey and finish out his final year of college drama free.

Ava is in the same boat. She’s not interested in dating...at all. Dancing is her passion. However, when a family function comes up and she finds out that her ex will be there, she needs a date. Oliver to the rescue. Her fake boyfriend is going to bring his A game.

This story will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth. What starts out as a fake relationship becomes an attraction that neither wants to resist. They both put up a good fight, but in the end, want overpowers the need to protect their hearts.

Ava is unfiltered, honesty. I found that quite refreshing. Oliver was a great guy, with all the right moves. A modern day Prince Charming. It’s a quick read with some great chemistry, a little drama and a whole lot of romance!

Slap shot of a winner!

I absolutely loved Ava and Oliver’s story. First I have to say YUM to that drool worthy book cover 🤩!
I couldn’t put my kindle down until I finished it. Jacob’s writing gets better with every book I read.
Oliver is a hockey star and it was nice that he wasn’t an arrogant jock.
Ava may be tiny featured but didn’t back down from giving her opinions. She dances at the club where Oliver is a bartender. Sparks fly when he sees her dance. They are my favorite couple. It was sweet how protective Oliver was with Ava when meeting her ex. This book gives you the happy tingles after reading it. I can’t wait for the next one. I highly recommend this book!

Oliver is seriously book boyfriend heaven! He’s so amazing in every way! A sweet caring male who has a heart of gold and loves those around him with fierce loyalty! I love that even though he had a rough go with “love” he’s not super jaded!

I will not lie though I was not super impressed with Ava at the start but as the story progressed I came to understand her and why she feels the way she does! She’s guarded and for good reason! Her and Oliver balance one another out and make one of the cutest couples! I love how real and drama free this story is! Made it so easy to consume and love!

4.5 star review of Iced (Boston Terrier’s Hockey #2) by Jacob Chance

When Oliver Ice overhears a conversation he shouldn’t he has no idea how much his life will change because of it.

Although a stand alone, I would suggest you read Checked the first book in the series and then Iced to enhance your enjoyment, although having said that it is not necessary.

This is Oliver and Ava’s story and I really enjoyed this book. From the first to the last chapter Jacob Chance wove such an engaging story that I couldn’t help but be drawn in.

What happens when a “fake”relationship suddenly morphs in to so much more? That is the position that Oliver and Ava find themselves in when he offers to be her pretend boyfriend for a family function.

I fell hard and fast for Oliver, he was such a great guy, totally swoon worthy, protective and caring. Ava was a little harder to warm up to but I understood her more as the story progressed. I really liked Oliver and Ava as a couple, they blended well and it was great to see their relationship progress throughout the story.
Their chemistry was off the charts and the fact that Ava, says what she thinks had me laughing quite a bit of the time. A great addition to the Boston Terrier’s Hockey series and I am looking forward to the next book.

I could not turn the pages fast enough! Warning, your wide smile may break your face, because ICED is more than a sweet delight of a sports romance. ICED is HOT!

OMG Two wounded hearts? Reluctant but charming hockey hunk meets smart “I don’t think I’m sexy” sexy dancer? Fake relationship? A fun cast of characters that feel like family? Throw in Jacob Chance’s signature dirty talk and sizzling chemistry? It’s all there. You should read ICED immediately.

I love the reverse trope here: Oliver is Cinderella, and I loved watching him get his happily ever after. He’s a great guy and gorgeous and perfect. He’s a student bartender hockey player who scores a lot, but he’s been through hell. He has a gift for knowing exactly what Ava needs when she needs it, but he’s denying himself.

Of course he volunteers to be her plus one when it looks like her emotional backstory invades her life. Watching him figure out what’s happening is soooo gewd! He’s such a sharp guy, and so honorable, and I love and hate and love how he hesitates. The push and pull is such delightful torture.

ICED is a keeper, and so is Oliver, but Ava always knew that. Sigh, I love this couple and ICED belongs on your sports romance shelf.

Jacob Chance scores with ICED (Boston Terriers Hockey). Boston University hockey winger Oliver Ice offers to help co-worker Ava Madigan by pretending he is her boyfriend at her family reunion. However, one weekend might be enough. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for new adult and adult readers.

My son and I just visited Boston University on a college tour. It was fun reading this story after having been at the campus. ICED is a heartfelt and captivating read. I liked both Oliver and Ava. They had a lot in common, including that they were both cheated on in their previous relationships. Neither one of them is in a hurry to date again. I like that they form a friendship and become protective of each other. They act as buffers when around the others ex. They have great chemistry and are admirable people.

Jacob Chance does an impressive job with ICED. It is skillfully written and mesmerizing throughout the entire story. The hockey scenes are easy to visualize. The characters are relatable. I recommend this story to people who enjoy sports romances and/or fake boyfriend romances. I’m looking forward to readind book three. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again...
Jacob Chance owns the Genre of Sports Romance!

Iced is the latest instalment in the Boston Terriers Hockey series and I gotta say this series is every bit as brilliant as the Football series if not better. Jacob knows how to add the most minuscule detail to make you fall for his leads and their stories.

I think first and foremost the characters in each of Jacobs books is a massive piece in helping the reader connect and adore them. He injects the perfect amount of fun and emotion into each book, and I think this series needs to become a TV series stat. This would make for total perfection and bring the characters and his writing even more to life.

Iced is Oliver’s story and has fast become one of my fav Jacob reads, he is the perfect mix of fun & swoon. I love Ava, what I love more is Ava & Oliver together. I was invested in these two beautiful souls and the sexual and emotional chemistry they shared was palpable as I was reading. Iced is a delicious slow burn that will leave you swooning long after you’ve finished reading.

Highly recommended read, you all need to “Get Iced” today.

Iced is the newest addition to the Boston Terriers collection of books. It's Ava and Oliver Ice's story... by the way greatest last name for a hockey player.
Both Oliver and Ava had a rough go at love. They were both cheated on by their partners and they respectfully swore off of love and relationships till Ava needs a pretend boyfriend for a family reunion that her ex will be at....
I thought some of Jacob's previous male characters were " swoon worthy book boyfriends", but they don't hold a candle to Oliver. He's a sexy hockey player, opens doors for ladies, caring, listens and a down right perfect man. Boydid his mamma raise him well!!

I am hooked on this standalone series, just when I think I’ve found my favorite book by this author another comes out that tops the last. Oliver is so down to earth and I adore this man, the fact that he is a great Hockey player but doesn’t have his life wrapped around it makes him even more swoon worthy. Ava’s personality is sweet yet strong, having a previous bad relationship leaves her on the fence with a family event but she pushes though and made the best decision to continue forward. A strong storyline from the beginning that will have you laughing and wanting to be in these characters places continuously. I highly recommend you grab both Iced and Checked, you will love these reads.

Jacob Chance has just delivered my favourite sports romance of 2019.
Iced is everything I love in a book. It's fun, flirty, charming, funny and down right delicious.
Oliver is the definition of the perfect book boyfriend and Ava is just as, if not more so, amazing.
Hours after finishing this book and I'm still swooning like a love sick fool. I highly recommend this book.

Iced is my very first read by Author Jacob Chance, and I think it was a really great beginning, because after reading, I immediately went and borrowed multiple other titles by this author!
I really enjoyed Iced. I liked both these characters and their devotion to and the passion they have for their sports. Oliver being a hockey player, and Ava being a dancer, they were able to relate on a different level than most because of their understanding of what it is like to be so passionate about something such as a sport. I also really love that they came together in the face of some awful betrayal's, and while they were still a bit jaded from betrayal, and wanted to keep things as just friends....it also shows that sometimes you need to just take another chance, even if it is something that scares you....especially when it is love shining through the darkness you are stuck in.

Ava has had a crush on Oliver from afar since very early in her college career, but never thought she would have the chance to do anything about it, because he was already in a long term relationship with a woman that he clearly was very in love with. Well, Ava begins a job at the same bar that Oliver works out, and although she now knows that he and his girlfriend are no longer together, she also has suffered a recent betrayal from her boyfriend of 2 years.
Oliver sees her while she dances on stage at the bar they work at, and he is interested in her, but, Ava kind of gives him the cold shoulder. But, soon Ava finds herself in a situation where she needs a fake boyfriend to take home with her to a family reunion, and Oliver overhearing her, ends up offering his help. While they both feel as if they are okay with their relationship not going any further than a friendship, feelings form, and their relationship begins to evolve.
Will they be able to remain friends, and not have it ruined by their romantic feelings for one another? Will they decide to take the plunge to try and have a relationship?

Well, you are going to have to check out the story for yourself to get answers to those questions and more, along with enjoying the full story line. There is a LOT more to this story than what I just listed above, and I definitely do recommend that you check it out and see for yourself!

If your like your hockey books that make you *sigh* in the best possible way then you will not only love ICED you will fall in love with the Boston Terriers series (Check out the Boston Terriers Football team as well 'Penalty' the first book in that series). You don't need to have read the first book in the series but why not you with love them! I sure do.

Up next is Oliver Ice, redoing his final year at Boston University - Right Winger on the hockey team he and his girlfriend Stacy were the golden couple for 3 years Oliver thought she was the one then found her with someone else. Olivers final year went to pot so he now has to retake it! Steering clear of girls this year after having his heartbroken he wasn't prepared for Ava.

Ava had a secret crush on Oliver 3 years ago but of course the jock with the beautiful bitch of girlfriend didn't notice her. Ava had moved on until she find her boyfriend with her sister.

When Ava goes to work as a dancer at the up market bar that Oliver bartends in the two get to know each other and although Oliver is not dating this year he and Ava become friends and when she needs someone to pretend to be his boyfriend at a family weekend Oliver steps up and offers to help her out.

Friendships slowly turns to more but both have been hurt in the past so can they overcome the challenges and betrayal and be together? Your just have to read it to find out.

Ava is a girl who has had a secret crush on Oliver Ice the whole time she's been in college, however, he had a girlfriend for the majority of it. So, she ended up with a douche at one point who really hurt her, and now she's jaded about relationships & dating. Oliver is also jaded himself, after catching that long term girlfriend cheating, so he's not interested in dating either. However, fate has different plans for these two people, which seemed unlikely after the first time Oliver officially met Ava at the place they both work. She's a bit mean to him, which had me laughing, but also, was like WTH girlfriend?! Anyway, they partook in the fake boyfriend/girlfriend situation when she has to go to her family reunion, but doesn't want to see that ex who was a total douche. They have seriously chemistry, but spend quite a bit of time with walls up, though each are struggling with catching feelings. ICED was a great story that I simply couldn't get enough of, because these two people were perfect for each other, and delightful to experience their journey. The secondaries were super fun as well, and almost tried to steal the spotlight. So, do Ava & Oliver finally admit their feelings to each other?! Hit that one click button to find out, as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Iced by Jacob Chance is book 2 of the Boston Terriers hockey series.

Get ready to dump your book boyfriends, Oliver Ice will steal your heart like he steals pucks.

I don't know how to put into words how I feel about this story. Once again Jacob Chance has brought us another amazing sports romance. Oliver and Ava's story is one that had me swooning. Oliver is the perfect boyfriend, you know the one that has all the checked boxes; he's sweet, caring, chivalrous, and protective. Although Oliver had a bad breakup I'm surprised he wasn't jaded, he comes across as laid back.

I love the Boston world that Jacob Chance has created. We get to see characters from his past books, even if it's for a moment or two, and we get hints towards possible new couples. The way he writes it's as if you're part of the world.

I can definitely say that I was left surprised by Mr. Chance when reading. I was thrown a curve ball and it was refreshing. 5 out of 5 stars, although if it could be more I'd give a zillion.

Ava had recently ended her relationship with her ex that she should have called quits on a long time ago. She is determined to enjoy her new-found independence which means following her dreams which starts with dancing at the same bar where Oliver is a bartender.

Oliver is nursing a heartbreak of his own and is putting women on the backburner to concentration on his education and his hockey career.

They originally met when they literally crashed into each other and although Ava was attracted to the hockey star it didn’t leave a good first impression. When he offers to help Ava out of a bind she realizes that there is much more to Oliver than her first impression but is either ready to let a new love into their lives?

Oliver was the perfect boyfriend as he is attentive, loyal and his swoon factor is off the chart. Ava has a way of talking first and thinking second which makes their interactions quite humorous. These two belong together and it is now finally their time.

Loved It! This Story Is The Tip Of The ICED-berg!

Amazing, funny, warm, romantic, spectacular, are just a few words to describe this story as it is the tip of the ICED-berg. You will fall in love with Oliver Ice the starting right winger for the Boston Terrier Hockey team. Mending a broken heart and determined not to get into another relationship. He decides to help out Ava and pretend they're dating and he may find that he's over his head.

Ava Madigan has had a crush on Oliver for years, but she has preconceived ideas about if he's actually a good guy. What happens when she finds out that he's actually a sweet guy? This is a fantastic slow burn romance. If you have never tried a sports romance book this is a great place to start. Read this book and you won't be disappointed.

A sweet romance, warmhearted and funny.
Dancer Ava Madigan has had a crush on college hockey player Oliver Ice for a long time, and Ava has to forget about anything ever happening between them. How ever, Oliver is recently separated and has decided to keep clear of relationships, but when he overhears Ava discussing her need for a boyfriend to attend a reunion, he readily offers his assistance. It’s only pretend but Ava is in seventh heaven.

A great romance, a relationship that at first starts as friends, slowly grows into love.
There’s a great story with lots of fun and giggles, great writing and a wonderful dialogue for the terrific characters. I enjoyed it immensely!

Love loved loved! This story had me smiling and feeling giddy. Oliver and Ava were just perfect. I love that their relationship started out as friends and they got to know each other before they gave in to their attraction. Their connection and attraction was undeniable but it was made all the better from the waiting and anticipation. The way Jacob wrote this had me unable to put this down and I swear, I did not stop until I was done.

I enjoyed reading about Oliver and Ava’s story. It was definitely cute and sweet. Oliver is definitely a swoon worthy hockey player and Ava dances at Score the club Oliver bartenders at. We feel the love at first sight. Oliver and Ava fight it for most of the book. But, the chemistry is explosive between these too. A little agnostic with a couple of ex’s but very short lived.
