About

Greta Van Fleet in Concert

In three years, Greta Van Fleet went from touring the grimy rock bars of Detroit and Saginaw to headlining shows on five continents with audiences triple their hometown’s population. The band that once attracted crowds of teens to improvised forest concerts, have now sold over one million tickets worldwide. Stadiums in Italy are a far cry from a field strewn with pick-up trucks, framed by the canopy of tall coniferous trees, where they learned to love an audience. Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater is a world away from the tiny Midwestern bars where they got their start (before they were even of legal drinking age). From Frankenmuth to a tour bus across America, then their first ever flight to Europe, their newest album The Battle at Garden’s Gate, released April 16, 2021, is a reflection of their journey into the present.

So many have been positioned as the future, we’ve forgotten how to recognize the real thing. Expectations may run high, but Greta Van Fleet is indifferent to opinion. The band doesn’t have to say a certain thing or act a certain way to convince anyone of their capacity. All they have to do is play.

    life-changing

    by Amma on 3/6/24

i first saw greta in sacramento with my best friend and really only knew their popular songs. after seeing them perform songs like caravel and highway tune and experiencing their energy on stage, i felt like a totally knew person. i’d never been to a rock concert before and it just left me in awe. sam’s bass was funky and fun, daniel’s drum solos were incredible, josh’s voice completely blew me away, and jake is everything and more he is made up to be with that guitar of his. since then, i began to learn all of their music and pick up on their message and who they are. i’ve gotten into more classic rock and try my hardest to live through the intelligence of love. i saw them again in seattle and portland and now have two more shows on my roster. i cannot thank my friend enough for dragging me along to that show cos i truly believe that this is where i’m supposed to be :)

    From Connecticut

    by Missy on 12/30/23

I am going to be 60 in 2024. I have seen many many concerts in my lifetime from country to regular rock and roll and metal. I seen GVF in 2022 and I can honestly say with my true heart they are by far the best ever. I will continue to but tickets to see every show I can locally.I constantly am listening to their music either on my TV or on Vinyl which we have all the albums put out so far. My kids are in their 30s actually my oldest will be 40 this coming year and they know who my newest favorite band is. And kudos to Jake for making top guitarist in 2022. God bless and keep giving me a reason to keep going to live concerts. Because you are the only band I will buy tickets for anymore. So please come back to Connecticut. Your true fan. ❤️❤️

    BEST CONCERT OF MY LIFE

    by mads on 12/4/23

I saw GVF for the first time in Nashville this July, and a few days before was one of the first times I listened to them.. I had been so adamant about not listening to them because my bsf (who is a huge fan) said she hadn’t liked one of my favorite artists, so i chose to not like hers. BIGGEST mistake of my life. I spent the entirety of the two days inbetween the concert and the release of the starcatcher album listening exclusively to gvf. So concert day comes oh my god it was the best experience ever!! the security guards let us in on some info about the b stage (mind you it was the first time they had done b stage so nobody rlly knew ab it) and we also were in the perfect seats to be able to go to b stage and then back to our spot to be right next to them when they walked back to the big stage. I’ll never forget it. Then, 2 weeks after the concert I didn’t listen to ANYTHING except gvf. All day everyday. So naturally, my friend and I buy pit tickets for the cleveland show, and somehow that show was even better. We got super close to barricade and Josh had come to pit during the archer and LITERALLY NOTICED THE PAINTING OF THEM I BROUGHT. It was truly the best night ever and I relive it everyday by rewatching all the concert videos. As soon as they announced new tour and festival dates, I snatched pit for huntsville, charleston, duluth, and rockville. If there is one artist in the world you should see in concert it is undoubtably greta van fleet.

Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul - Incredible experience

    by KJ on 11/5/23

The Xcel staff were very friendly and made check in a breeze. The show was overall incredible and it was easily one of the best nights of my life. Seeing the band I love in front of me brought tears to my eyes. Their staff who work sound and stage do such a great job. Yes Jake had a lot of guitar solos, but his talent should be shared with the world. They're all a class act. For a hockey stadium, their acoustics were fantastic. I could go on. I loved it all and I'm seeing GVF next April as well and am so excited!

    Need help on stage presence

by Jammin' in Mpls on 10/28/23Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul

I was very disappointed. The band sounded really good but their stage presences needs a LOT of work! The stage ate them up. It was TOO big for them. There was NO SYNERGY between them and three of them are brothers. They were all performing on their own. They need someone (like me) to show them how to have stage presence. Also, believe it or not, the seven guitar solos got to be too much. The acoustic set was special. They need to learn how to take that fans energy and send it back to them. Instead the fans energy overshadowed them. I know all the young kids thought it was great but they haven't seen great performers. This was not a great performance. It's too bad because they should be having the time of their life. It looked like they were going through the motions or didn't know what to do rather then "We get to do this and we're SO excited to be here with you."I won't be seeing them in concert again. Once was enough.

I’ve been to quite a few Greta Van Fleet shows over the years and it truly never gets old. It’s such a beautiful, bright, loving, and overall stellar performance and act of unification. Greta Van Fleet works hard to make the experience worthwhile and they do such an amazing job.
