this is an exciting action packed suspense filled romance story.When Stefans father the head of the clan keeps trying to force him to pick a Romanian woman that will be seen it not heard he keeps telling him no.He then puts a plan in motion to get the woman he wants she's strong defiant an she will stand beside him not be a quite mouse.The woman he wants is the wild child daughter of a Texas Oil millionaire.Presley is so tired of her parents trying to control her life trying to decide who she will marry how she will live her life.She tells her father's she's taking a vacation to Brazil he says no she says it's either where I want to go or I will go to Vegas.He says stay out of the tabloids you are damaging our family name an business.He tells her to be careful there is a lot of sex trafficking over there.She asks her friends to go her childhood friend it seems they are drifting apart and she asks Sky and Paulo they all say ok.Then three days before they are supposed to leave her childhood friend says she has to get back to work And Sky is leaving too.Presley knows that Sky was talked into it.She asks Paulo if he's staying he says yes he has his eye on a hot bartender.Paulo asks her if she minds hang in out where his hot bartender works she says no.Then Paulo asks if she miss him staying with his new hottie.Presley says no but she won't let anyone know she's alone it's too dangwrous.A good looking English guy asks if he can buy her a drink then they can dance she says ok the guy brings two shots of tequila she throws hers back.As they start to dance everything goes black.She wakes up in a cage with a bad headache .When the guy from the night before opens the cage she starts yelling at him he hits her knocking her down.She's taken to a room with a dr chair her clothes are cut off she's sexually assaulted not fully raped but molested in awful ways then she's taken to a room with lots of other women an told to shower she starts talking to the girl next to her then the girl is raped by three men in front of her told if she doesn't keep quite she'll be next a man walks in an says she's not to be touched she's special she tells him what the guy did to her the guy says she's lying but the boss says she has nothing to gain by king he shoots the guy killing him an says if anyone touches her your next.When Stefan finds out someone touched his woman he vows to kill the bossman.He buys Presley for two million dollars he tells her she lucky she could have ended up with one of the others an had terrible things done to her.He wants this woman more than he's ever wanted a woman it first he has to make her want him too.There are so many twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and makes you feel their emotions and their pain.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.

I have put this review off for some time because I really had no clue what to say. The book itself is pretty well written. It is obvious both authors can tell a story. Yet, I really was not impressed with the h (leading lady) to say the least. The book starts out with her telling her dad she is going on vacation and if he puts up a fuss she will vacay in the States and as is the norm cause tons of drama and PR nightmares for her dad's company. This is the norm? Selfish much? In the next breath she is all, oh I need to repair my friendship with my childhood friend because I really care for her. So, selfish rich brat who supposedly has a heart of gold and wants to make her own way in life and run her dad's company one day has her dad pay for a trip for her and her friends then gets kidnapped and sold into the sex slave trafficking crap. I will say those scenes regarding the abuse these people, even young children, endure were brutal. TRIGGER WARNING.
I say this is typical because you can pretty much predict what comes next. I really didn't feel that there were any good suprises. No, OH SNAP! I DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING! Moments. It just seems anymore, not just this author, but lots of authors use this cookie cutter for characters and plots. Not saying these authors do this on each and every book. Just saying this one was too typical for me. It was still technically well written.

Defiant is a first read for me in this Clan Series by Elizabeth Knox and Iris Sweetwater which I found to be an exciting, thrilling, sensual read. This story is about Stefan and Presley, two strong defiant characters, each having issues with their fathers and how they deal with them. Stefan is told he needs to marry the woman his father has picked for him in order to have children and strenghten the clan. Stefan has plans of his own to get the woman he wants. Presley is a defiant young heiress from Texas who gets caught up in Stefan's scheme when she finds herself kidnapped and sold into slavery on his orders. The banter and passion between these two was explosive from the start, but one thing is for sure these two were made for each other and soon Stefan will realize Presley will be a perfect fit into clan life. Things take a turn once he takes Presley, she fights him every way but agrees to the marriage as one way to get out from her father and family's influence. Now forces are in the works to destroy both of them, will Stefan and Presley be able to stop this threat? And what is going to happen when Presley learns about Stefan's part in her kidnapping? This story will hold your interest from beginning to end. This was a fast paced read about the clans and the mafia that is surrounded with murder, danger, betrayals, violence, secrets and so much passion. I voluntairly reviewed an advanced copy of this book .

Presley wants to go on a holiday to try to repair her friendship with Heather, as much as her father doesn’t want her to, he agrees that with the media it’s best she’s out of the country. Heather decides to leave early, along with Sky, but Paulo wants to stay to catch up with the cute bartender. Presley finally takes the offer from the British man to buy her a drink and not long after she starts to feel faint.
Stefan can’t believe the time is soon from the minute he saw her he knew he had to have her, and went to extremes to get her, he can’t believe they touched her and they would pay for that but soon she would be his and there was nothing his father could do then. She’s everything he wants, a woman to counter him in business and bed.
They both start realising that the marriage and their union will stick it to both their parents, but they both try to deny the feelings they have for each other, but neither denies their chemistry. Stefan had been avoiding seeing his father, knowing he wasn’t happy with that Stefan had chosen his own bride, but was summoned to their mansion. Everything was going well, and they decided to put up a united front to his family.
What happens when Presley finds out the truth and the both realise, they love each other.

This is the sixth book in The Clans series and is Stefan and Presley’s story. This was such a great read by these two authors. I was hooked from the very beginning and read this in one sitting. Stefan and Presley are both strong characters that have problems with their fathers. Stefan’s wants him to marry a certain girl, which he won’t do, and Presley’s wants her to finish school and be more mature and stay out of trouble. Stefan wants a woman who is defiant, feisty and sassy, and Presley is perfect for him. How he goes about getting her is not the way to do it. When they first meet,, their connection is instant and their chemistry is off the charts hot. This will give you all the feels. There is action, secrets, death, deceit, backstabbing, heartbreak, and twists and turns. I enjoyed this story and will read the others now. This is a standalone and you don’t need to read the previous stories to follow this one. The storyline is fantastic and keeps you reeled in and I love the characters. I highly recommend reading this book and not passing it up.

She fought as long as she could to stay off the feelings he brought to her, in the end didn’t make a difference,because they couldn’t fight off the feelings for each other.
Together, they fight their families , an unknown evil, and finally come together and have a deep and understanding love for each other.

Defiant by Iris Sweetwater and Elizabeth Knox is an awesome read. This story is book 6 of The Clans series and is about Presley and Stefan. This book had me laughing, crying, angry, wanting to hurt someone, arranged marriage, kidnapping, slavery. I had all the feels. This story has The Clans, Mafia, violence, romance, twists and turns, highs and lows, action, suspense, revenge. I absolutely loved this book and definitely recommend it. I can’t wait to read the next book by these amazing authors. The book is well written and has very likeable characters. I did not want to put the book down.

This was an interesting and intriguing story that I really enjoyed. I do have to say that I was not impressed that there were still as many editing errors as there were in the first collection. If I didn't like the story line as well as I did, I would have certainly rated it lower for that reason.
Overall, the story line was fantastic, but it was the editing issues that ultimately caused the lower rating.
I would recommend this book and series, but I would also caution about the errors.

Presley, a wild one, defiant against her rich father, decides to go ahead to Rio with friends. Stefan was told he was meeting his wife his father prearranged for him. He was determined to pick his own wife. He needed a strong woman, feisty, one that can take charge. He saw those qualities in Presley. His plan is how to get to her and have her go along with his plan. This story is about human trafficking, getting even, mystery, sex, agreements, trust, lies.

I absolutely loved this book. I was completely captivated by Presley and Stefan’s Story . I smiled , laughed and cried. Twist and turns that had me turning pages in anticipation. Lies, danger, death and so much more fill this intriguing book. I couldn’t stop reading until I was to the end and then it left me wanting more . You definitely don't want to pass this book by.

Pretty good!
I chose this rating because this was a pretty good book. I recommend this book to all readers because I really enjoyed the characters. This was a book of taking control of your own life, compassion, and being true to yourself. Stefan and Presley that this was a very, very unusual couple and how they met were not very pleasing. He did a little conniving to meet her and and not a very good way. But when you know it as it always do they fell in love but he had to make the wrongs that he did, very right in order to get back with her. This was a pretty awesome book. I recommend this book to all romance readers.

This book had me from the first page. I was wondering what type of marriage that Stefan could have with a “slave”. It was hot from the first encounter and it totally knocked me for a loop on how much I really loved Stefan. Definitely another Five-Star read!! Would definitely recommend!!!

Book 6 of the clans keeps getting better. I love following the characters and how the develop. We get little rid bits of other characters from the previous stories and it pulls it all together for me. I really enjoy Elizabeth Knox’s series and how she intertwines them with other series so the story is always developing!
