Summary: 

Under the direction of the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO), the Director, Prospect Management & Research plays a critical role in creating, managing and analyzing prospect portfolios by providing biographical and financial research on existing and potential donors, engaging in strategy sessions, and performing and evaluating wealth screenings and initiativesThis role works closely with the CEO/CPO, Advancement and Community Fundraising teams, and others in identifying, tracking, analyzing, and building a stronger pipeline of donors and prospects for PKDF. 

 

The Director, Prospect Management & Research is responsible for the overall identification, coordination, and production of prospect and donor data as well as the implementation and enhancement of a prospect management program, and lead generation and assignment program for the organization. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Designs, develops, and implements tools and resources necessary to maintain an informative prospect management discipline. 
  • Recommends, develops, and maintains resources that can be used by management and advancement staff to track the progress of pipeline qualification and donor cultivation cycles. 
  • Analyzes new and existing donors and prospects for major and principal giving potential to convert prospects into comprehensive donors to PKDF. 
  • Proactively analyzes and reviews information from existing files and data to advise and recommend fundraising approaches; this includes discussions about giving capacity ratings and wealth screening results, campaign analysis, and prospect management. 
  • Manages the prospect pipeline to ensure timely and accurate information management of data related to all donors and prospects as well as a steady flow of prospective donors for assignment to qualify or cultivate.  
  • Develops tailored briefings and comprehensive profiles including data on financial assets, potential philanthropic support, and areas of interest across all teams within PKDF.
  • Interprets biographical and financial information on individuals, based on fundraising strategies and objectives. 
  • Serves as a thought partner, in collaboration with Director of Information Systems and other IT team members to create and design Quality Control and Assurance Reports; as well as organization-wide SOPs and guidelines to increase CRM usage to manage donors. 
  • Ensures protocols are in place, adhering to all donor privacy and ethical standards upheld by APRA. 
  • Performs all other responsibilities and projects assigned by immediate supervisor and senior management. 

 

Ideal Qualifications: 

 

    • 7 or more years of experience in prospect research and prospect management.  
    • Significant experience with CRM; specifically, Salesforce, and proficiency with these platforms is preferred.   
    • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in process analysis, project management, as well as demonstrated ability to share these with others through mentoring and collaborations. 
    • Experience with maintaining prospect information and data management systems and the ability to work effectively with systems administrators and programmers. 
    • Proven success as a creative thinker with the ability to articulate and implement programmatic visions. 
    • Knowledge of philanthropy, understanding of non-profit models, campaign management and constituent relationship management. 
    • Ability to contribute to CRM design, development, and report building. 
    • Possess a curious mind, look for opportunities for improvement of existing processes for better efficiency. 
    • College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience  
    • Proficiency in managing multiple projects at one time. 
    • Must have excellent verbal and written, communication and computer skills.
    • Able to collaborate effectively among highly diverse (geographically & professionally) teams and with external organizations and individuals. 
    • Advanced problem-solving skills. 
    • Be self-motivated and punctual.  
    • Adherence to the highest degree of ethical behavior and professionalism. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

 

Travel Requirements: 

Occasional business travel will be required to the PKD Foundation office in Kansas City, Missouri. Employees must live within reasonable proximity to a major airport hub for required travel. 

 

Physical Demands: 

    • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. 
    • Use hands and arms, read, stoop, crouch, talk, hear, see objects clearly at 20 inches or less. 
    • Lift and move items weighing up to 20 lbs.

    As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, PKDF provides a range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. Multiple factors may be used to determine your actual salary, including: your specific skills and experience, physical location, or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be lower or higher in different markets. 

     

    The anticipated pay range for this role is: $70,000 to $90,000 per year
