History[]

Season 1[]

Lori is first seen as overprotective towards Alexa because of her cancer and likes to smother Alexa. Lori thinks school is important for her kids and would punish them for skipping class, homework, or failing tests, however, her punishments become lighter. Lori would always try her best to be available for Alexa and Lucas, throughout the series we can see the kids going to her for help. She is very good at detecting when someone's lying, especially Alexa. She tries to work from home for Alexa but ends up not being there for her after all and later goes to work normally. Lori also sometimes likes to tease Dave and thinks of him as a suck-up in High School because he was a good student.

Season 2[]

The season starts when Alexa had a check up at the doctor to see how she was doing. Lori was distracting herself with different (random) tasks to keep her busy and her mind off of what the results could be. In the end of the episode, Dr. Breitweiser says ‘Everything looks great.’ And Lori, as well as the whole family, is put at ease. In the second episode, she helps Jack and Jennifer deal with them both excessively consuming candy & coffee, which they both depend on. In episode 3, she is baffled at the fact that Gwenny and Lucas start hanging out; considering that Alexa and Gwenny are enemies. She feels overprotective and doesn’t really know what to do, because she knows Alexa despises her and Lucas seems to really like Gwenny. In the end, Alexa accepts the fact that they both like each other and their relationship isn’t as big of an issue. In the fourth episode, Lori volunteers at the hospital where Alexa was treated for cancer. She invites Alexa to join her, but she isn’t ready to go back. Alexa struggles with trying out for the basketball team because she hasn’t played in a year. She ends up making the JV team, and she’s not happy with it at all. Alexa then goes to the hospital and has a heart to heart with a patient, making her realize how grateful she should be that she made the team and was able to even try out. In the fifth episode, Alexa and Dylan are both having issues in their relationship and end up breaking up. Meanwhile, Lori and Dave go all out for Halloween and scare everyone. Jennifer decides she’s had enough and goes overboard to scare them; by cutting a hole in their table. The episode after that shows Alexa acting like she’s okay the day after the break up, although she doesn’t have Jennifer convinced and Lori appears to be sadder about it than Alexa. At the end of the episode Alexa cracks, showing her real feelings and Lori is right by her side, crying with her and telling her it gets better over time. In the 8th episode, Alexa finds her old hospital bag in her closet, catching her off guard and stirring up bad memories of her being treated in the hospital. She hides this from everyone, and at the end reveals what she feels. Lori and Dave tell her that they both think it would be good for her to get a therapist. They end up re-doing Alexa’s room, making her feel better. In the 9th episode, Lori, Dave, Jennifer, and Jack all do their tradition of playing games on New Year’s Eve together. Lori is very competitive and focused on winning, to keep up with her 5 year winning streak. Dave and Jennifer end up winning the game, which Lori refused to accept. After midnight, Dave plays 1 on 1 with Lori, letting her win to make her happy. In the last episode of season 2, Katie breaks the coffee machine at Wired and has to pay for it herself, using all the money she had saved up for her London trip. She hides it from Alexa, because she doesn’t want to ruin her Sweet 16 party. Hannah tells Alexa, and she tells her parents to cancel the party she was planning at the venue and for them to have it at her house instead so she could pay for Katie’s London trip.
