Job Purpose
SCDOR's Tax Policy Division is responsible for researching and managing the interpretation of complex tax issues and laws and recommending technical tax interpretations and procedures to the SCDOR Director to provide for the uniform application and enforcement of South Carolina's revenue laws in a manner warranting the highest degree of public confidence in the integrity, effectiveness and fairness.
Ideal Candidate
A tax professional in this position should have strong tax research, writing and analytical skills. An ability to effectively communicate complex tax matters and South Carolina law in a clear and concise manner, in writing and orally, is essential. The professional must be self-motivated, organized and plan work to provide timely and accurate analysis to questions and issues supported by thorough research. Basic knowledge of SC and/or federal tax laws is needed.
