    Are you up for a little adventure?  Carson-Newman Army ROTC is offering you the chance to be a Cadet for a Day on October 14.  

    For those seeking a military career, Carson- Newman Army ROTC is one of the top programs in the nation, and while we may be small, we produce quality officers who perform well in their placements after graduation.  Carson-Newman has consistently placed in the top of Advanced Camp and Ranger Challenges. As a Cadet for a Day, you can learn more about Army ROTC scholarships, contract opportunities, and what Carson-Newman’s Eagle Battalion can offer you.

    ROTC courses are elective classes open to anybody who seeks some adventure and challenge as part of their college experience. It’s a great community for building life-long friendships and unforgettable experiences likes skydiving, mountain warfare school, and much more.

    If you want to see if ROTC is for you, join us as a Cadet for a Day on October 14th. Check out the schedule below:

    5:15 am - 5:40 am -  Check in at Baker Memorial on Campus

    5:45 am  – 7:00 am – Physical Training – Experience a team inclusive workout with the Ranger Challenge Team

    7:00 am – 8:00 am – Breakfast with the Cadets – Eat and converse with current ROTC cadets about their ROTC and campus experiences

    9:00 am  – 12:00 pm – Class Shadowing – Sit in for a class in your major with one of our current cadets

    12:00 pm – 1:00 pm – Pizza with the Cadre – enjoy a pizza lunch with the ROTC instructors, staff members, and current cadets

    2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Military Science Class – Captain Dave Hoy will instruct this course with emphasizes military leadership, history, and practical military science applications

    3:00 pm – 3:50 pm - Campus Tour with Admissions

    4:00 pm –  Tactics Lab – a hands-on lab based on the ranger handbook and emphasizing movements and operations
