***Simmons School Directory****
The directory provided by the HSA is an online directory– this will give you access to the directory via computer, mobile phone or tablet! We are taking a different approach this year where you will not have to confirm your information before the directory goes live. We are targeting for access to the directory no later than October 21st. You will receive an email from Simmons Elementary Home and School Association with a unique link and password to set up your account. The information that will be used for the directory was provided from PowerSchool. If you do have changes to make, you will still be able to make changes to your account as soon as you access it and all throughout the year. If you do not see an email by the end of day Monday October 21st, please check your spam folder. Additionally if you do not want to be listed in the directory - please notify me by October 18th. If you do not receive an email granting access to the directory or you have any questions, please contact Janet Fryer at janetfryer525@gmail.com.

Donations are encouraged and the students from each grade who raise the most money will receive a prize. Halloween Festivities
On Thursday, October 31, Simmons Elementary School students will be having Halloween activities and parties in their classrooms. Your child’s teacher will send home more specific information about their class activities. We want to share the timeframe for the day’s activities and important information about security procedures on October 31st.
As I have communicated in our weekly newsletters since September, only adults with Hatboro-Horsham School District volunteer credentials will be admitted to the school for the Halloween parties. All adult visitors must wear the photo i.d. issued with the volunteer credentials. In the interest of everyone’s safety, no exceptions will be made to this policy.
Timeline for Halloween Parties
2 p.m. Preschool Parade in the gym, followed by parties
2:15 p.m. Kindergarten and Grade 1 Parade in the gym, followed by parties
2:30 p.m. Grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 class parties
Preschool, kindergarten, and Grade 1 families will be admitted through the exterior gym door. Adults may view the parade from the bleachers in the gym. No adults will be permitted to enter the school building following the parade unless they have their volunteer clearances.
Grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 families will be admitted through the lobby entrance.
Room parents who are setting up for the party will be allowed to go to the classrooms 15 minutes prior to the start of the party. All other visitors will be allowed in at the start time listed above.
Parking
The parking lot gets very crowded on party days. Please allow extra time to park safely in a legal spot. No cars may park in the school driveways as that will block the entrances for school buses.
Costumes
Please remember that all costumes need to be appropriate for an elementary school setting. No face paint, hair dye or weapons should be brought to school as part of a costume. Thank you for helping us make this event fun and safe for everyone.
