What is the best and most affordable way to travel to and from the airport to this hotel? Don't want to rent a car if not necessary. Their webpage only talks about a privately owned shuttle service, which seems pricey, and taxi.

      A:

Depends on the number of people: FOR A SINGLE PERSON ($24 EACH WAY): Airport Shuttle service is cheapest / reliable (you have to sit through drop-offs and pick-ups)… more

This hotel features a few unique experiences worth visiting even if you're not staying overnight in the rooms here! I got to experience the Carousel Bar and the Le Petite Chef animation dining (complimentarily via Yelp Elite Event).

First we got to sit at the actual bar at their Carousel Bar inside the hotel. It's usually very crowded and popular, so it's hard to grab a seat, but a fun experience to try if you can! The bar is literally a carousel, and once the bartender flips the switch, it turns (slowly, so it's not going to make you too dizzy) at a rate of 15 minutes per rotation. The thing that makes this bar even more fun is that the bar is an enclosed ring, so the bartender has to jump over the bar to get in and out. Patrons will be asked if they don't mind stepping out of their seats for a minute if you sit at one of the spots where it's safe to hop over. Their drinks are a bit on the pricier side ($high teens), but you expect that of a hotel bar, and you don't find such unique bars everywhere.

I didn't stay overnight, but I got to see their gorgeous, newly-renovated rooms in the Iberville tower. The rooms were beautiful and luxurious. They also have a rooftop pool. It's a bit small, but it's a rooftop pool and just fine for cooling off or hanging out. Their ice cream sandwiches are yummy, but again, a bit pricy at $10 each.

The showstopper for the event I went to was, of course, the Le Petite Chef animation dining experience! It's held in a special room inside the Criollo Restaurant found inside the Hotel Monteleone. We got to try the 3-course animation brunch menu, which is normally $65. They also offer a 5-course dinner at $130. A projector embedded into the ceiling projects a tiny animated chef "creating" your meal for you. It's an added level of fun watching him grow veggies beside your plate, dive into the ocean to catch your lobster, walk through the snow to make your ice cream, etc.! The little chef made me a salad with fresh mozzarella first, then a lobster benedict (Fancy and DELICIOUS! It comes with perfectly seasoned hash browns, house-made English muffins, and poached eggs topped with lobster meat, Béarnaise sauce, trout roe). The meal ended with a baked Alaska dessert.

I would absolutely bring my from-out-of-town visitors here for the Carousel Bar and Le Petite Chef animation dining experiences!!

      1 check-in

I chose this hotel because the location was perfect for doing touristy stuff. Restaurants, bars, steamboat...etc, all were walkable.

The bar area was packed when we checked in, so we did a quick change and took a walk down Bourbon Street, instead of standing around hoping for an open seat.

If you're a guest, you can make a reservation in advance for the Carousel Bar Experience. We really enjoyed it. It's $100 per person. The bar seats 25 people, but one seat is for the tour director, Mike Dupree. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the hotel and New Orleans. It was a great history lesson and I'm glad we did it at the beginning of our trip.

Stayed here for 3 days after a cruise and it is by far the best service experience I have had since the pandemic (Marriott- Ambassador status and titanium for life).

Upon arrival Robert took great care accounting for our bags, keeping us abreast of when our room would be ready, and giving us the low down on the local restaurants. King did the same when it was time to leave.

We had a small discrepancy with the bill which was quickly fixed by the front desk. Room service/housekeeping quality and professionalism was top notch.

I could throw a rock and hit four or five outstanding restaurants, and walk a quarter of a mile and enjoy many galleries and bookstores.

Highly recommend - we'll be back

Beautiful Hotel. So I went to the lobby of this beautiful hotel to take Christmas pictures.
And yes! This hotel is the place that has the Carousel Bar.
Go here to take pictures. Go here to read about the historic hotel and the historic Carousel Bar. But go. The lobby is comfortable and has plenty of space to relax.

Earle at the Pool Bar is a fantastic guide to all of the history and sights that you can see from the tallest building in the French Quarter. He is the steward of the rooftop bar and heated swimming pool and one of the most famous meeting rooms there on the rooftop. The carousel bar is the most famous bar in the hotel on the ground floor but make sure you take the time to go to the roof and get some great history of the original capital of Louisiana from Earle.

I travel at least twice a month and I can unequivocally say that I've never had such a great hotel experience as I did last week at Hotel Monteleone.

The staff go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. I don't know how, but most of them even manage to remember your name! Housekeeping takes it to the next level - the room was fully refreshed each day, and one day I returned to find a Monteleone-branded screen cleaner on top of my laptop.

The hotel itself is beautifully appointed. The rooms are a little tight and the bathroom doesn't have a lot of counter space, but neither contributed negatively to my stay. The bed was such a nest, with no less than six pillows.

I can't wait to stay at HM again!

We spent 4 nights there this month, and it is one of the best hotels we've ever enjoyed. Our Vieux Carre suite was outstanding in that it was extremely comfortable with an outstanding view of the French quarter and the Mississippi. It is a historic hotel, but with all the modern conveniences. The service is impeccable. We would definitely stay there again.

Decided to do another mini staycation here. Still one of the best hotels. They've seemed to have updated a lot of the rooms w| a more modern look. This is such a classic hotel. You can't go wrong booking here. Right in the heart of the FQ.

There's the Carousel bar downstairs and live music most nights!

If I could give ten stars, I would! We took our kids and grandkids to the beautiful Monteleone. We were immediately greeted by Nolan. This is hands down the sweetest man we have been blessed to know. What a true gentleman. My grandkids had the best interaction with this man. Without getting to personal, he shared a very heartbreaking story with us. He made us appreciate one another that much more. Thank you to Nolan for truly welcoming us like family. Please share this with him and tell him we adore him. There were a total of 8 of us staying and with four kids. He gave them a memory that will last a lifetime. A teaching moment to share and give using their M and M's.
