We are lucky my friend made a reservation here months in advance. He had to sign on right when the reservations became available to get a prime dining time at 7pm. The exterior is unassuming and has that old-school vibe. Once inside, we were seated immediately at a nice table on the left side of the restaurant. Our server was great and had been working there a long time, telling us all the tales of the place and famous people who have been there that he personally waited on.

This is a full experience for sure as the eating part is just the beginning. I love that all steak entrees come with soup, salad, potato, onion rings, and vegetable, so no a la carte for those things, unless you want more. Our group of 4 ended up splitting a 77oz. rib eye at market price, they had a few large cuts left and once sold out, are sold out! It was actually pretty reasonable in price and came pre-cut to our table, cooked perfectly!

After that portion of the meal, you get a tour of the kitchen, that is active and working. It was really cool to see behind the scenes. You also go into the wine cellar, which is the largest in a restaurant in the world. Then after that, a whole new dessert experience happens in their dessert room, which is upstairs. You get a whole new server, new bill, and the dessert menu that has anything you could want. The ambiance up here is much darker and secluded booths. Plan on spending 3+ hours at this place!

Most importantly had a great experience here. There is valet parking. The wait to get seated for a 7:00 reservation wasn't too long but the bar is very crowded. Fortunately they had waiters taking drink orders but the drinks are made in a different bar in the back) in addition to the bartenders (but probably faster to get your drinks from the bartenders directly). The decor was a throwback to a more glamorous time (the walls are very red, made me think of Ancient Rome for some reason) but perhaps a tad dated. They make a great old fashioned (when in Rome as they say). The Coquilles Saint-Jacques were outstanding if you like scallops, a must order. The steaks come with a small French onion soup, salad, baked potato onion rings and vegetable of the day which were all fine but not exceptional. I felt it made the price of the steak a good value. The steaks were phenomenal. We had a 30 oz porterhouse and 19 oz T-bone (smaller filet than t-bone).

After dinner they take you on a tour of the wine cellar which is huge on the way to a different area for dessert complete with a pianist playing a piano. Needless to say the have an expansive and reasonably priced wine list (for a steakhouse anyway). They decant your red wine. The salted caramel bread pudding was great. Plan to spend a lot of time (and a lot of money) here but like I said it was a great experience and will definitely go back!

Was so excited to dine here!!
Started at the bar for one cocktail while we waited for our reservation. We showed up a little earlier hoping to be seated earlier.
We were seated at 9pm on the dot.
Tomahawk, table side Caesar, and a baked potato and lobster bisque. Everything was delicious! Would repeat that whole menu again.
We skipped tour of kitchen but enjoyed the wine cellar. All the statistics about the cellar and the restaurant in general were staggering. The place is a maze and although huge, had the most intimate vibe. We sat in a small room with only 6(?) tables. Very nice!
For dessert we opted for 3! We chose 2 of the top 3 sellers: peanut butter and banana cheese. We also chose the baked Alaska which was a show.
Total 5 star experience. Only complaint- It's cold!!! Ladies bring a coverup!

Go to Bern's Steakhouse! Service was amazing by everyone here. It is a Michelin Guide restaurant. I wasn't able to get a reservation for the in-restaurant dining, so I researched the alternative way. They don't do carry-out.

They opened up the waiting area at about 16:15, by 16:20, there were 20 people squeezed into the small waiting area. They opened up 16:45 for first come first serve bar and lounge seating. We got the lounge seating.

I ordered the Delmonico steak, my friend got the Chateaubriand steak. Steaks vary from $59-100+. All the steak entrees came with their famous sides: French Onion soup, house salad, baked potatoes (dressed your way), "onion rings," and vegetables of the day. The downer is they add an automatic 12% service fee on the bill.

After dinner, you have an option to go on the restaurant and wine cellar tour. They reserved seats to the Bern's Dessert Room for us. We did the tour and dessert.

      Highly recommend it!

They have one of the largest privately owned wine cellars in the world. Then the dessert room was really neat. You sit in modified wine barrels that have a private music system where you and another can listen to. Sorry it was a long post. I got the flambé dessert because I was being extra. I don't drink, so I wasn't a big fan of the alcohol part. But, it was really rich and good. Go

Berns gets a 5 star from me for the food, experience, and the ambiance. Walking in the place is stunning. I had no idea the restaurant was so large with so many different dining rooms to be sat in. Our server was amazing she walked us through the whole menu, making suggestions, and telling us her favorite things. Everything was delicious from the drinks to the salad, the onion soup, the steak, even the potato and the onion rings. It's expensive but the experience in itself is so worth it. Definitely take the kitchen and wine cellar tour and make a stop up in the dessert room!

Bern's Steakhouse truly embodies the epitome of a fine dining experience. From the moment you step foot into this establishment, you're transported into a world of elegance and sophistication. The moody lighting and meticulously curated decor set the perfect ambiance for a memorable evening.

One of the highlights of Bern's is undoubtedly its unique dining rooms, each with its own distinctive look and story to tell. But the real stars were the main courses. My husband got a ribeye and I indulged in a steak sampler, featuring an impressive array of cuts including A5 Japanese Wagyu, Filet Mignon, and a dry-aged Delmonico. The opportunity to sample a variety of steaks allowed us to appreciate the subtle nuances in flavor and texture, and every single one was cooked to absolute perfection!

Now, let's talk about the dessert room, this is dangerous for anyone with a sweet tooth. Despite being uncomfortably full from our main courses, we simply couldn't resist exploring the decadent offerings in the dessert room. The sheer variety and creativity in the desserts surpassed our expectations.

While Bern's Steakhouse certainly comes with a higher price tag, it's abundantly clear why it has garnered such a stellar reputation. The quality of the food, the impeccable service, and the overall dining experience make it worth every penny. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself to an unforgettable meal, Bern's is the place to be.

Bern's has a long history and much of it is due to their impeccable service. We booked our reservation for our February anniversary in December. They do operate on a rolling 60 day calendar for reservations and reservations open promptly at midnight at 60 days before. When you book a dining reservation, you automatically have the kitchen and wine tour as well as a seat in the dessert room. You can decline either on the day of your reservation. If you do the full experience, be prepared to be there for at least four hours. Would highly suggest you keep this in mind when you make your reservation..

They have the largest wine collection in North America! There are two books present at every table. One is the full book of the wines available to purchase by the bottle the other is wines available to purchase by the glass. They also have a selection of beer, as well as handcrafted cocktails. We both opted for the Bern's old fashion...literally the best old fashion we have ever had.

Their menu is extensive!! Many options to choose from! We opted for the 10 oz strip and 14 oz Delmonico. When you order a steak entrée, it automatically comes with French onion soup, house, salad, onion rings, vegetable of the day, and a baked potato. You do have the option to upgrade any of the offerings which we did. We opted to upgrade to the lobster bisque. Overall, the food was good, steaks were cooked perfectly. The onion rings were more like onion strings, but love the additional flavor they added. All of their steaks are also brushed with their garlic butter sauce before they are brought to your table.

After dinner, we went on the kitchen and wine cellar tour. It is quite chaotic in the kitchen, and for understandable reasons. It did feel slightly rushed, especially when we went to the wine cellar portion of the tour it felt like our tour guide just kind of rushed us through. We would've liked to have more time to take photos in the wine cellar. Which while you're on the tour, you may take as many photos as you like, but videos are prohibited.

The dessert room is located upstairs and features everything sweet, including their handmade ice cream, but they also have more savory options such as a cheese plate. We were seated in the piano room where we were able to directly interact with the piano player. I had the Granny's little secret which was delicious!! We also opted for the strawberry bourbon cobbler, and the blackberry chocolate cake. Both were absolutely exquisite and packed full of flavor. The only thing we wish would have been more enjoyable was the piano player. He was rather sarcastic in nature, and when not being fed suggestions, he just kind of sat there in silence.

They do have valet parking available, but there is limited street parking available as well.

Bern's is, and always will be, my favorite steakhouse to go to in Tampa. The experience and sense of occasion is just on a whole other level. You simultaneously feel like you've been whisked back to the Roaring 20s with all of the pomp and extravagance, and yet still enjoying the comforts of the 21st century. The steaks are always cooked perfectly to the doneness that I want, and with everything else that comes with that steak, the value just can't be beat. And as always, you can never pass up the dessert room. The ambiance of being in the wine barrel lined walls is just fantastic, and the service is so focused and fantastic. This will always be my go to place for special occasions :)

Came here for a bachelor party in which we reserved a private room and had to reach a $4k food and drink minimum. Our private servers took excellent care of us and attended to our every needs. We ordered some appetizers and steaks for the table. One of the appetizers we had was the excellent seafood tower. Very fresh and extremely appetizing and refreshing! Some of the cleanest tasting seafood I've had. When the steaks came out, there was a lot left to be desired. I felt that the steaks lacked seasoning and definitely required the accompanying sauces to really taste the elegance of the restaurant. I feel like if you're going to spend that much money for a higher end steak, the flavor of the meat should stand alone. I was disappointed because I had extremely high expectations for the steak but the flavor let me down.

We enjoyed the tour of the kitchen and the cellar. You can tell the tour staff was pretty tired of the same script that they have to repeat several times a day and I can't blame them. It's a pretty neat experience seeing a behind the scenes look at an extremely elegant establishment.

We made a reservation for our 23rd anniversary. We waited in a beautiful old worldly decorated foyer. After being seated we waited for about 10 minutes before our server came to our table. Once he got us going it was a great experience. The food was delicious and the tour of the restaurant and their wine cellar was a nice way to end the visit. We wanted to do the dessert room, but we were stuffed and got some dessert to go.
