Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Warrior Pledge funding work?

Warrior Pledge funding is designed to fill the gap. The program covers tuition and fees not covered by state or other financial aid programs.

Does the money have to be paid back?

No. Warrior Pledge is a scholarship program that receives funds provided to the WWCC Foundation from generous donors.

Do I have to be a full-time student?

No. To be eligible for Warrior Pledge funding support, you must enroll in a minimum of 10 credit hours per quarter in fall, winter and spring. Support is also available to Warrior Pledge students who enroll in a minimum of 5 credit hours during the summer.

Are current students eligible for the Warrior Pledge?

Students who are new (never attended) to WWCC will have first priority. So will individuals who have previously attended the college, but have been away for at least one year. Current students may also be considered, depending upon special circumstances.

What’s the deadline to complete my application materials?

Funding allows us to continue awarding students throughout the summer, but the priority deadline for Fall 2023 consideration was July 1. Students are considered in the order they submit their materials, so it is best to apply to the college and complete the financial aid application as soon as possible.

Does Warrior Pledge require a separate application or inquiry form?

No. You will automatically be screened for eligibility by applying to the college and having a completed financial aid application on file.

Do I have to apply for FAFSA or WAFSA?

Those who are eligible to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) or Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) should do so to participate in the Warrior Pledge program. Those who are not eligible to complete the FAFSA and WAFSA should contact the college to learn how they can still participate in the Warrior Pledge program.

How many credits, degrees will the Warrior Pledge cover?

Eligible students will receive Pledge support for up to 110 credit hours towards a credential or any two-year degree offered at WWCC.

Once I am accepted into the Warrior Pledge program, how long do I have to complete my degree?

You have 10 years to complete your degree from the time you received the Warrior Pledge.

Will Warrior Pledge funding cover 300 or 400 level Bachelor of Applied Science coursework?

No, Warrior Pledge is designed to help you earn a certificate or two-year degree.

Does Warrior Pledge have a GPA requirement?

To continue to receive Warrior Pledge funding students must maintain good standing with financial aid (a 2.0 Cumulative GPA).

Do I need to start classes the quarter I am selected for Warrior Pledge coverage of tuition and fees?

Yes.  If your plans change and you decide to start classes at WWCC at a later time, you can be reconsidered in the future.
